Un****enbelievable!
Un****enbelievable!
Before I did a try on I had a bash at making the spine detail on the back of the neck which attaches to the breather mask. I wasn't going to make this originally as it will probably never be seen due to the rather large Sith hood he wears most of the time.
So using my new best friend foamex I cut and glued a former together, then moulded it in fibreglass.

I needed to hide the wire that supplies the power to the breather so I threaded that through the mould and poured the mould up using some black Ecoflex silicone.

Next I very carefully glued it into position and filled any gaps.

After adding some more veins and giving the whole thing a coat of black it helped blend it into the existing mask better.

The breather mask now sits nicely and locates into the small box on the back.
I could resist having a try on with all the parts I have so far. Got a good friend to take a few pics, strictly shoulders and above!! Lol
This gives me an idea of what needs improving/changing.
The mask is sitting a little high on the face in these pics but a small adjustment has now corrected that.

Im liking what Im hearing as well...Thanks guys!
I think I will address that scaring on the cheek issue. Just need to see if I can take it back a few notches and make it look scarred instead of charred! The opacity of the silicone paint will determine if this will work or not.
Hmmm fan film you say?!?!

It's completely doable. :thumbsup
Mix your pigment and silicone...dilute and airbrush over the red charred area. Light coat at first...then dry it right away with a heat gun.
Go over with second layer...and dry with heat again.
Then, your third and fourth passes can be done in waves...allowing for some of the red tissue to still be seen but ever so slightly. If you do this in layers you'll end up with a translucent skin color that allows for the red flesh to be seen through where and how much you wish it too.
Personally, I wouldn't hid the red entirely, but letting it be seen through the pigmented silicone is without a doubt an option.
Good luck bud...this rocks big time.

It's an incredibly great work.thumbsup:thumbsup
Soon, I'll begin the same for my Darth Vader's armour, that I wish very accurate. I've already bought material.![]()
