Dark Knight Rises

No, I stand by my original statement. I realize they are too very different films, but this film is looking more and more like a powerhouse that will win the numbers game, and I loved the Avengers.

I can't freakin wait for this film.

anyone think the following spoiler alert............

not really a spoiler as it is not fact but does anyone think maybe jgl character John Blake takes up the batman mantle somehow....why is he listed so high on the imdb dkr actor list why did he come out with bale and oldman at the mtv awards why is he prevelant in the trailers I guess the question is what is his role and where did he come from to be so involved....bruce wayne said in bb that he wanted the bad guys to fear a symbol as they would not fear just him so it is the symbol that would bring gotham together to fight for itself

just curious peoples thoughts on jgl

Typically promotion focuses on "bankable" actors. JGL is a very bankable name nowadays so they've got him up there. Plus, he may play an important role in general. Doesn't mean he becomes Batman.

btw, spoiler tags look like this
whatever you are writing [/spoiler

Just close the last bracket.

I miss the old days when you didn't see a trailer unless you went to the theater. Also there was only ONE trailer!!!!

That's not true. A quick youtube search and I found that the first two results for "Chinatown Trailer" were two different trailers.

They have been doing this for a while.

The young actor plays John Blake, a Gotham City police officer who proves his mettle to Commissioner Gordon and becomes one of his most trusted allies. He also shares a connection to Bruce Wayne in that he, like Bruce, is an orphan. “He looks up to him because of that,” Gordon-Levitt says.

Interesting. I'm still trusting Nolan that we will not see Robin.

****** I could see where this is going, It's not Robin. It's that Blake becomes the new Batman or fills in or something.

Well, if he answered yes, he could be giving away a big plot point and why would he do that? I'm not saying he's lying, but if he was, it'd be completely understandable.

I haven't read through all the posts. And I think/hear/suspect the film will be very solid. But does anyone else have an issue going in that Bane appears physically to be so...ordinary? I hope my comics/animated TV history will not make my seeing a physically "normal looking" (not a tall, big, hyper-muscular) Bane be an overt distraction. (FOr the record I hated the "silent henchman" idea of Bane in the previous Batman film with Poison Ivy...ugh.)

I just feel that Bane by definition (in addition to his intellect and character [which seems to be well done from the little info I see via the trailers]) simply MUST have a physically (very) imposing appearance. I am worried about this aspect.
