Dark Knight Rises

I had a crazy dream that this film opened up with Catwoman stealing the Bat Pod, Batman stopping her and she's taken away in cuffs by the police who walk her off frame while we have Batman and Gordon talking. That was the extent of her role.

Than we have Batman putting on a special, more teeth looking mask that Bane wears which somehow makes Batman much stonger. He beats Bane into submission and everyone bows before Batman. Bane is tearful and everyone is smiling, and Batman declares with his arms raised "End of a trilogy!" and everyone cheers.

I woke up literally upset about this dream. I was thinking "That was the extent of her role? To be arrested by police in the first act??" That movie sucked.

I saw the prologue 2 days ago, my mind was blown. I might be a bit biased since I love almost anything Batman, but this short clip was just incredible. I love Bane's voice. I got a free shirt too. It was a good night.

Hahaha. that dream sounds so awesome, especially the Bane is tearful part.

Spoiler rumor alert

kill the batman? Wow that would be a story for sure but why....and this new gordon levitt character take up the mantle of the dark knight? Well then what is his full back story then why does he want to be batman....
So much specualtion which makes the wait for the movie and the teasers that much more fun :)
i finally figured out why i did not even care that much when or as much as nolan wanted us to when he got rid of her ( RACHEL DAWES ) character ala joker and it was the simple fact that the actress playing rachel was changed and for me that actress change was big....i thought katie was good for what the part had to offer and that maggie was just well kind of there....had the actress been the same and she brought more passion to that role it would have played better for me....
And then onto this new stuff....not sure i care to see a superhero movie where the hero gets his a** handed to him then killed in favor of joseph gordon levitt for the sake of shockvalue....really?

Funny writing this and the movie is so far away....i enjoyed this series by nolan so far and and sure bane will be a cool villain but the whole concept of bruce wayne being offed to put closure to his trilogy just is green eggs and ham....

ALTHOUGH THE MORE i WATCH THE MOVIES THE MORE I SEE WHERE PEOPLE ARE PIECING THIS TOGETHER

IN THE DARK KNIGHT HARVEY DENT SAYS " YOU EITHER DIE A HERO OR YOU LIVE LONG ENOUGH TO SEE YOURSELF BECOME THE VILLAIN....( THE KEY LINE FOLLOWS ) WHOEVER THE BATMAN IS HE DOESN'T WANT TO DO THIS THE REST OF HIS LIFE HOW COULD HE....BATMAN IS LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO TAKE UP HIS MANTLE "

HELLO JGL....

Seriously why don't people like the idea of Batman getting killed? I mean bane kills him in the comic, this is the last part for both bale and nolan, and it would offer the possibility for a new director and a meet lead. I'm pretty sure its gonna happen. Maybe jgl becomes his apprentice first, some kind if robin

So.. I am not a huge batman fan, but I know a bit. I was always under the impression that Bane was kind of a dumb bruiser that was more about brute force and physicality. Have I missed something because that doesn't seem to be at all the way he is portrayed in the prologue.

Thanks to Joel Schumacher for that. His version of Bane had no resemblance to the real one except in looks (huge guy in a mask).

In the comics, Bane is one of the most intelligent villains in the series. He didn't just beat up Batman, he engineered his downfall. And he's one of the few villains to figure out who he is. He watched Batman for a long time, before even making his presence known, and learned all of his little intricacies and nuances, to the point that he could recognize him whether he was wearing the suit or not. He saw Bruce Wayne for the first time and said "It's HIM". Bruce was stunned stupid when he walked out of the Batcave and found Bane in his frikkin' living room.

Batman was in a bad way after the fight, and not just physically. It was the first time that he'd been truly beaten. He even saw it coming, he knew what Bane was doing well beforehand, but couldn't do a thing to stop it.

Don't let the earlier movie fool you, Bane is an incredible villain, and if Nolan is bringing him in, and keeping with the idea of what Bane is in the comics, that means Batman's going down.

OK... I suddenly have more interest in this movie. I have always felt Bane was a throw-away, like Sandman in Spidey-3. This gives me hope!

I'm worried about his size, or lack of it. I know IRL he couldn't get Hulk sized, but his gigantic size made him an impossible task for anybody.

He could still beat all of us. People have been complaining about size, but that's not the main thing. Strength is not exactly tied to size. Plus, he is on pain gas so he is basically a buff guy that feels no pain, trained to destroy in hand to hand combat.

The second trailer shows Bane casually dropping the front of Batman's mask (like seen in the poster)... like he just ripped it right off his face. Aside from not feeling pain, there MUST be a super-strength thing going on there...

After seeing both the new trailer and prologue the movie looks very interesting....could see batman being broken then coming back and defeating bane and in doing so walks away from it or goes down with bane. Not sure how the legend ends fits in if they will do more with another cast someday.
Catwoman looks uneventful....looks like batman will fight bane at least twice....the one on the streets and the one which looks like it is in the batcave the one where batman looks soaked and tired and where bane walks away tossing the broken mask....unless it is one long battle between the 2
have to guess the batcave battle is 1st he brakes batmans back as the look on bruce wayne's face is that he cannot move which is either his back is broken or bane hit him with gas

fun speculate....oh dang just put the movie out now!!!!

Anyone else starting to seriously expect Ra's to make a return appearance?

After watching the second trailer I know I am. The "smart" version of Bane is great and all, but some of the events in the trailer definitely have the league of shadow's fingerprints on them. Especially when you consider that Ra's al Ghul's daughter was cast for this movie.

Bane would make a great enforcer for those heists, but I never remember him being one to totally destroy Gotham - rather become the "king of crime" or whatnot.

In any case, I think it's going to be a great film. And if Liam does show up that will make it that much more awesome for me! Ra's is one of the few reasons that I like BB more that TDR.

Liam is in the cast for Ra's flashbacks, so yes I'm expecting to see him in the film. I doubt we'll get any Lazarus Pit dipped Liam in the film's present.

Which version of Bane are you referring to? Bane in the comics has always been similar to what Nolan is displaying. He's always been close to Batman's intellectual equivalent and surpasses him in the physical area (even without Venom). He's never the enforcer type. I guess b/c of his size, everyone assumes that, even Joel Schumacher...
