Holy smokes, Batman. The rumors, speculation and general chit-chat can be put to rest.
Christopher Nolan’s Batman epic The Dark Knight Rises will be released on Blu-ray combo pack, DVD, and digital download on Dec. 4, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group announced exclusively to EW.

The last film in Nolan’s dark, gritty Gotham City trilogy, starring Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, and Tom Hardy as brutal villain Bane, will also be available in a limited edition Blu-ray Bat Cowl collectible package — not quite in time for your Halloween costume, but there’s always next year.
The Blu-ray combo pack is stuffed with a bunch of extras, from a documentary about the Batmobile, where all five Batmobiles are together for the first time, to Ending the Knight, an] in-depth look featuring about 17 featurettes at how Nolan and his production team made The Dark Knight Rises, from Batman vs. Bane to totally demolishing a city street. Both the Blu-ray and DVD include a featurette called The Journey of Bruce Wayne.

There are also trailers and art galleries.
Check out these exclusive pics of the packaging and the cowl, below.
set is limited to 50000 in the US

Pretty cool stuff indeed!

I doubt the cowl will be wearable, it looks like half size to me. I'm guessing the base it sits on is just a bit bigger that the bluray disc box itself. :(

Just added this to my Christmas list. Though I admit I did not enjoy it as much as I did TDK, it is still a very good and entertaining movie. I don't really buy media anymore, since streaming will be the next big thing, but this one I think is worth it.

Tempting, but I'm holding out for a fully fleshed out Dark Knight trilogy set. I can't imagine that there isn't one in the works.

I loved the new one and looj forward to this.
Agreed that the limited edition looks to be a small scale replica.

I'm sorta sad that nobody lists "interactive menus" anymore as a bonus feature on their disk releases. :lol

I'm glad they announced the ultimate collector's edition trilogy as well, so I know to not buy that first trilogy release. Can't wait! Maybe they're want to find out when The Avengers set is coming out before announcing their release date. :)

Bought the Blu-Ray Trilogy today at Wal-Mart for $27. The art book it came with was pretty neat

Anyone having trouble getting the Bluray disc to play? Mine loads to the menu just fine, lets me into the subtitles and special features just fine but won't play the feature.

Had to resort to watching the DVD :-(

we already have this in asia guys, i don't know why it's taking so long to launch in the states, and no they're not knock offs.

My special features were on a separate disc from the main film.
