D.C.'s The Flash (tv series)

I'm with NielT 100%. Even in the comics the Flash is having fun being the Flash. I am so tired of dark and gloomy and all seriousness. If wanted that all the time I would just watch the news. Seeing Grant make the character fun and lively is one of the best things about this show. A superhero who actually likes being a superhero.

Big doings.....spoilers ahead.....

Looks like soon we will have our Kid Flash and Jesse Quick. Who knows what happened to Barry.....Hard to believe they would actually kill the flash off....

Oh and Barry's dad is Earth 2's Jay Garrick.....that is Awesome :)

I got confused by that garrick line. now i'm really lost.

it was all so easy on young justice where grandpa, father and cousin flash all had speed and all in the same universe ;o)..

I guess I should have seen that bit with wally and jesse coming last week a mile a way, but i'm just having so much fun with this show i don't think ahead with it and just enjoy the m oment.

so glad this wasn't the finale.

Loved this episode. Emotional and poignant. Great to have Barry back rejuvenated and focused. Who is going to help Barry take down all those baddies and who is Barry giving the classic Star Wars " Nooooooo " to?

Phone rang while watching this last night, so i hit pause. While i'm on the phone, the screen is frozen on Cisco - who i notice is wearing a Dr. Sheldon Cooper t-shirt with the friendship formula on it. Laughed right into the phone then had to explain it :)

did anyone else think henry was going to get speed power too when barry vanished?

Nah, I've always seen Henry as a grounding influence, much like Joe. Someone who keeps Barry in check and reminds him of what it's like to be human.

Besides, if they did, then he'd probably put on a red velvet speed suit, reveal his first name is actually Barry, not Henry, and he's from Earth-whatever where time is approximately 20 years ahead. Basically, Barry Allen essentially fathered himself, and that's too much for any one human to try and comprehend.

but it would give us an excellent 90s flash reunion if papa flash goes up against the trickster ;o)

has there been a list of all the named villains at the end of the episode posted yet?

OK this is a weird question but....
OK we know that Zoom is Zolomon the serial killer, played Teddy Sears. But one thing bugs me. When Zoom has the mask off, showing the actor Teddy Sears' face, his build and mannerisms are different than the Zoom with the mask on. So, when Zoom has the mask on, is it a different actor in the suit besides Teddy Sears? Has it always been?

They used a stuntman quite a lot for the Reverse Flash in season one... Totally different build and mannerisms to the point where people were theorizing there were actually two Reverse Flashes. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same guy playing zoom, as the builds are similar.

In short... Is masked Zoom played by a stunt actor? Probably.

CW awful at picking stunt actors? Absolutely.

Ok, I saw that one coming a mile away. I knew when I saw the famous Star Wars " Nooooooo " that SPOILER Follows

Barrys dad would be the one to go and that zoom would kill him in Barry's Childhood home.

Now........that being said, the killing of Barry's Dad was ABSOLUTELY unnecessary. Other than to cut one recurring character loose.
That episode had so much promise till the end was just ridiculous. I will write it again........RIDICULOUS.

The next episode speed battle looks just silly.

Ms. Cassidy looked spectacular and would have been great as a turn to a hero.

I REALLY hope that the defeat of Zoom is a little more substantial than making him take the silver in the Metahuman Olympics...

Well, she is still stuck on Earth 1 and has her powers... anything is possible.

Yeah, it really sucks that Henry had to go but you know what that could've been avoided if Flash did something about it. He knew that Zoom was gonna kill his dad so why can't he just run and stop Zoom? Too many unnecessary deaths!

******. Great episodes, massive stakes, heartwarming and heart wrenching.

Why was it unnecessary?

Also, claiming Flash "should have just stopped him" - I don't quite think you're understanding the show...

I'm sorry I really didn't care for this episode or last weeks really. Zoom had so much promise but these last two felt like fillers until we find out who the man in the Iron Mask is. I'm curious about how Henry said that Garrick is an old family name.

Well in my opinion, with Flash's newfound confidence and his powers, he could've stopped Zoom from killing his dad while Zoom and Henry were too busy talking.
Yeah, I know someone always have to die every year but it's unfortunate that it had to be his dad. Especially when John Wesley Shipp (Henry) & Amanda Pays (Dr. McGee) just shared a brief onscreen time together.
