CZ-1 droid head completed

hi folks ,ive not been around much due to an injury. i have however been able to complete a CZ-1 (or 2,3,4) head. this is my master head from which i will make a mold. i have only one ear piece as this is all i need.(stuck on with tape)
i finished this up a few weeks ago,pretty happy with the way it turned out.

made mostly from car body filler plasticard and even balsa wood.its not pretty on the inside but its whats on the outside that counts.anyway hope u like it.

here is a teaser pic for you. i dont have my digi cam at the moment so a camera phone pic will have to do.

FWIW, I don't think the iris details were in relief...just painted on. After all, the face and chestplate of this droid were originally Vader prototypes (compare to MaQuarrie drawings), and they wouldn't have carved googly eyes onto Vader.

The irises are dimensional on the real thing just like Zorg has them.
I picked up a nice 8x10 photo from Officialpix in anticipation of this project and the irises are very clear on it. They look like they might be countersunk metal bits, maybe tapered washers?

thanks for the kind words everyone, it took a lot of manhours but its done now.

treadwell, i did get hold of a large file pic of the face and it showed the iris detail more or less as i have it. i used wooden beads which i slightly countersunk into the main eye pieces (shaped balsa wood.) and blended them in a little with putty.

i do appreciate your comments, i think i will try a vader dome on it to see what it looks like. i did see the vader sketches showing the cz details of the face and chest.
