I had a spark of inspiration. I was bored with cloned paint jobs of my casted Bio's of Ancient Elder and I thought why not do something different with my bio.
So here's the stuff you'll need for the job:
IN the pic you'll see
- Template of symbols drawn from Wolf's bio (Adobe Illustrator) print out to the size I want on the helmet
- Wide clear tape to laminate the print out
- Scissors and sharp Xacto knife for cutting
- Cutting mat, sharpie fine point, blue or red depending on your resin color.
- Dremel tool (not pictured) with a spade point, and whatever sharp point.
Choose your words wisely:
Before you begin cutting, select the symbols you'll want on your bio.
SImply mark off by putting a little red dot next to it so u'll know which to cut out later
Then you'll want to laminate the entire sheet of symbols.
Start by cutting out the selected symbols. ONly the black part out carefully using ur super sharp Xacto knife.
Then cut out the symbols in little squares so u can position them on your bio.
ON your bio
Draw guide lines center point vertically of where u want to put the symbols.
Then mark off horizontal center points. I use 3 cm apart from each center point with a + . Marked lightly with pencil
Position the symbols according to how many you want
I did a 4 symbol - 5 symbol - center - 5 symbol - 4 symbol combination
I lay the symbols that I want on the side so I don't get confused
I start to trace symbols over the helmet with the center registration points marked lightly with pencil.
I do tracing using a blue Sharpie carefully.
After tracing, start Dremeling !
Now you'll have to wear your goggles and respirator and it'll be messy so work in your designated make mess area.
Resin dust will burn your lungs and eyes, wear gloves.
Carefully drill out the symbols on a middle spin speed, not too fast speed other wise u'll be out of control. SO excercise
your judgement. Work as if you're a tattoo artist. Be patient and work by going over the symbol lightly a few times to
get the depth and sharp calligraphic points.
After you're done do your other work on this bio, sand drill whatever. Then wash it and it's ready for Paintwork.
This is just a basic guide. Feel free to deviate and be creative!
