Custom Stands for my MR Falcon & Y-Wing

Hi everyone,

Russrep made a fantastic job of the custom stands that I designed for my MR Falcon and Y-Wing. I've never been a fan of the mirror bases, so these are simple baseplates with a support rod. They've all been powder coated black and just need to be screwed down on top of the white pedestals that I got for them.
Thanks Russ.

Thanks Jason.

Yes, the Falcon will have power. The support rod is hollow and I've got the 1/4" mono jack, wiring, battery pack etc and will hook it all up so that the lights are battery operated. The switch will be hidden around the back of the white pedestal. :D

Cheers,

Chris

Chris, if I remember correctly you're into architecture. You should be in interior decoration. You're one of the very, very few people on the board who have a solid sense of design when it comes to displaying your props. Only two others off the top of my head are on your level. Most just muddle their stuff together which I too have been guilty of.

Your stuff is tops.

Oh...do you still have all the pics of you in the Noel Howard TOD jacket or the jacket by itself? If so, please send em my way if when you get a chance and of course, if you don't mind.

awesome pics and display....thanks for sharing those

i've never been a fan of that Falcon mirrored base either....this is exactly what i would try to do if i ever bought one

Thanks so much for all your great comments guys. Glad you like the new bases.

The backdrops started out as screen grabs from either DVD or HD. I scale them up to the appropriate size in Photoshop then have them printed out onto foam board. The artwork is matt heat sealed onto the foam board to protect it. They're not very cheap due to the professional printing costs, but I think they're worth the money.

Dumb question time. What did you use for the white boxes that your bases sit on?

clutch - They are constructed from 18mm MDF, mitred at the corners so you can't see the join, then painted with Dulux brilliant white eggshell paint. I get them from a professional art display store.

Cheers,

Chris

Extremely nice display.
I really like the way you display your lighsabers too, with pictures from the films under each saber.

SUCCESS...

After a few hours work, my Falcon is now hooked up to 6 AA batteries at the flick of a switch.
No more cable snaking across the floor to a wall socket. :D

My thanks to all of you guys who gave me advice on how to wire this up. It works really well.
