Custom Prop Designs

I was curious if there is a demand for custom, non movie related props? I was doing a design of a future weapon for a class I teach, and thought it would be cool to make.

I have three or four evenings into it. I still need to work out the details though. Still another couple of evenings to go before getting quotes for machining.

I've made a few custom pieces. They have gone over pretty well. Some people really like seeing something new while others don't have their own mind and need to see a prop on TV or in a movie before they can accept it.

Somebody told me this one is wrong...which is odd since I designed and made it. I was so amazed that the incident has become the signature for my posts.

Nice looking stuff SLK, I think the Phaser is my favorite. Although the prop thingy that you said people thought was wrong is interesting too. It looks like something H.G. Wellscould of used!

I love custom props. I find myself taking my randomsabers custom lightsaber hilt or SLK's custom communicator out of the storage drawer more often than anything else in my collection...barring my sonic screwdrivers.

That is one bad ass looking blaster, it's what a updated Forbidden Planet Blaster should look like. You have to mock one up in real life to see how feels and looks in one's hand.
