Looks good so far.  The only thing that I see is the depth of the dread holes.  I would keep them pretty shallow so the dreads don't have to be pushed too far in.  With allot of available dreads, some people cut the large end of them at a slight angle to get them to hang better.  With holes that deep you wouldn't be able to do that, and they would be coming out of the mask at a pretty extreme angle.  The dread holes in the 2 masks I have are around 1/4" deep fwiw.

You make a good point there, I wasn't sure how deep to make them so I put it at about 3/4 of an inch in.
I still have some minor work to do like skin texture on the neck and cleaning up the lines in the wrinkles, but I'm undecided on texturing the crown or not.

I now have the lower mandibles finished, the neck textured and the dread holes are now shallow enough. I think I'm going to leave the crown smooth now. Almost ready to mold it.

Well, the lower mandibles were uneven and seemed too long. I ended up cutting them off an shortening them down, I then cleaned up the lines on the inside of the mouth. After looking at it for awhile I noticed he had a bit a chrimson chin going and shortened that too.

I decided to go ahead and texture the crown, with the design I did it kinda gave me that cracked dry desert feel. It sort of matched the dome idea but it didn't quite blend. So I came up with some spikes and tied the bumps into it completing a good blend between designs. There I still something off with the upper lip area, I made these ridge like scales and even cut a design I to them to try an incorporate the design somewhere else. Its not quite right to me, any ideas would be greatly apretiated.

After some time of thinking, I thought; if his mouth looks like tendons are stretched and lean then why not the neck? Well here you have it. I Still have some detailing work on the neck. And I just realized looking back that i didn't mention that the spikes on the head were cut off and the places they fit are hollowed out a bit. My bad

awesome....well done!

Well, I stepped away and came back at it with some fresh eyes. The jaw still seems off to me and I have changed it again. Other than that I have fixed some minor symmetry issues on the scaled dome. For the last shot I did it with flash on just see it without such an exaggerated lighting. Again, all criticism is welcome.

The eye sockets seemed kind of sunken and made him look like a starving pred. I changed those and then added some more 3d mouth tendons around the teeth, then after much thought I cut him up around the crown and made that area wider. The angle of the dome just seemed so off to me. Still not sure.

Filled in all the dred holes and made new ones in better places. Other than some tiny refinement I think it's finnished. If I'm afraid of adding too much detail that will be hidden by the paint. Any thoughts or critiques are welcome as always.

Quick Question... how many dread holes are there?  Reason I ask is because there doesn't seem to be very many.  My Termokk has somewhere around 48 if I remember correctly.

There are 44 holes in mine right now because after the picture i cut 2 more on each side to fill in more space then i put 1 more for the small dreads on each. could probably make more. its just one of those things I should have searched beforehand. I kinda jumped head first into this with only some basic pred knowledge.

nice job brother my only idea their seams to be a separation in details around the sculpt maybe add some more details around the mask to somewhat blend them together just my idea still really cool sculpt I like the profile and as far as to little dred holes it reminded me of a argument I had with a friend when he said my model didn't have enough windows like the studio one

Agreed, the sculpt is looking really good.  I re-read my comments and sound like I'm coming off as a critical ares :) lol.  Not my intention at all, you're doing far better than I could do.  Thanks for all the updates!

Thanks, I agree. It needs something more to blend it all together. I'm just not sure where and what yet.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you feel like that. I was happy you said something, all your doing is making it that much better XD. Seeing works like yours and from others all over the lair inspire me to work on it more and try to even slightly match up to the talent around here. Thanks again
