Custom Post-Imperial Mandalorian Helmet Paint Progress

Lately, I have been getting more into paint work and doing less prop building...here is a little progress on what I am currently playing around with, a Post-Imperial Mando grunt helmet.

It’s mostly a layered technique using liquid latex to mask the layers one color at a time. Then physical scratch by hitting it with random objects. Then several acrylic washes.

It turned out great! I’ve been wanting to do a custom helmet for a while and haven’t pulled the trigger. This sure is a kick in the pants to get me thinking about it some more.

This one has MTN “Hardcore” chrome as the base layer…it does have some adhesion issues though that you have to be careful with

Doooo it, it’s so enjoyable to do these custom paint jobs. Very freeing to just wing it.

That paint job is amazing. That’s for sharing your techniques as well. Was curious if you were using stencils as it looks really clean. Nice work!
