Custom Galaxy's Edge Savi's Workshop Sabers?

Looks like there's a healthy secondary market of passholders buying sabers in the park and parting them out on eBay.

Higher quality custom parts would be cool, but I wonder if the form factor would prevent that from really taking off. The Savi hilts are large and very heavy (mine is 2 pounds by itself). It was fun to build and cool to have, but it stands out displayed next to other sabers and weighs too much for a costume belt-hanger.

Be interesting to see where it goes

Just got me thinking... has there been any canon reference as to how much individual lightsaber actually weigh?

I once practiced Kendo and shinai (sword) weighs around 500g or roughly 1.1 lb.
An actual katana used by samurais (according to google) weighed from 900g to 1400g or roughly 2 lb to 3 lb.

I am comparing lightsaber to kendo shinai/katana because George Lucas once said that all lightsabers must be held with both hands (although such convention has been broken many times).

Maybe 2 lb is what Disney wants hypothetical lightsabers to weigh.... :)

No set weight or size to a lightsaber design. It would be whatever is best for user. A full grown Wookiee Jedi might prefer a larger hilt design. In fact, that is what the Nature and Elemental design reminds me of.

I also believe the reason you need to hold a lightsaber by two hand (as Lucas said) has nothing to do with the hilt’s weight but the need to control an ignited lightsaber.
