curious george - the man in the yellow hat

is it difficult (or even possible) to reshape a cowboy hat? if i got one it would probably look right on if i could get the indents out and flatten the rim.

Steam and elbow grease should do it. Look for a vendor that sells open crowned hats. This will exclude the factor added crease.

i've got white pants and a shirt coming in the mail and picked up some yellow dye. the boots should be here anyday also.

i wanted to show off the hat i won on eBay last night. now i need to figure out how to dye or paint it yellow.

A couple of years ago, I went as the comic book Joker and was able to dye a hat purple. I used watered down RIT in a spray bottle, then used a make-up sponge to coat it into the fabric. It came out pretty good. I can post photos later...

i tried dying the shirt and pants last night. let's just say i will learn to read labels from now on. i now have a nice pastel yellow dress shirt and white pants with yellow waistband and pocket liners.

now i need to try to find 100% cotton shirt and pants.

i also started working on making the tie. i took apart an old one and cut out the fabric for the new one.

the boots arrived yesterday. i took out the insert that goes on the front giving them the vertical stripes. it was pretty loose and didn't really fit with the costume.
