It took a while to have made, and even longer to come in, but it's here!!!!

I love this thing, and sweet god it is HEAVY.

Weighs in at just under 11 lbs. :confused

Sorry for the crap pics, but I took em with my cell phone. Cannot find my batteries for my good camera. The skull next to it is a life size human skull (male caucasian) so you can get an idea of how big this thing is.

As much as I love this thing, I might have to pop it up for sale :unsure, but in the mean time it's currently sitting on a very sturdy shelf with a glow base under it :love

The company did a hell of a job on it, and while there are small changes I want to make to the design, overall this thing is awesome!

It took about 20 years to finally get it made, but I think it's been worth the wait :)

Awesome crystal skull!

am I the only one that thinks the other skull looks very real? and that brings up other questions :confused

I think the factory would have a heart attack if I asked them to do the indy skull :lol

It's based on the house 2 design, but it's a little different. A lot bigger as well. The house 2 skull was pretty small, as well as pink and blue. I am entirely too manly to have a pink skull in my home, so I went with the clear route :)

It's pretty cool, and it's fully hand carved crystal, not glass.

I like the design they pulled off though, it has a weird sort of aztec feel to it. Looks like something from south american ruins :)

Looks like your typical plastic one to me, I have a real human skull (actually almost a complete skeleton), that a local University displosed of and was then given to us... Teeth are the number one give away, there are usually some missing on real skulls unless they are prime examples and they don't match the rest of the skull in color...

Anyway nice glass skull, that is certainly a monster in size...

Gotten a few emails about both skulls :lol

I will try to answer all the questions I can remember off the top of my head.

The white one is a bone clone (from boneclones.com), which is an awesome place online to get some very high quality replica bones for a great deal. http://boneclones.com/BC-107.htm is the link to this model. Other places sell them for a little cheaper, but overall this site is terrific and chances are if it's a bone, they have it.

The lighting wasn't great, and it wiped out the color a bit. It's a bone color (hah!). Bleach white kinda, not "fresh out of old grave" brown.

As far as the crystal skull goes, I have no idea how they attached the gems in the eyes. I think they glued them, but I don't see any spots or glue leftovers, so I dunno. It looks damned good though. (obviously they had to do SOMETHING like glue it because the gems didn't fall out in transit or when I turned it all over to examine it when I got it in)

No ideas about a base yet, but I am thinking of leather wrapping the handle of my crystal dagger and making a combo base for it :)

Since it was carved from one solid block of crystal, there are no air bubbles like you get in glass casting, and no mold lines. I think the worst was a little spot near the side of the head where some of the grit dried from when it was wetsanded and polished. I didn't have a mold made off this because a: it would be crazy expensive, and b: I wasn't sure of the final design. I still need to tweak it a bit, but at least I am on the right track for what I want the final piece to look like.

Dunno if there will be an interest thread, as I don't think this is a really "big" item like a superman crystal or smallville prop, but if you are interested, feel free to shoot me an email. I have already asked the factory and they are happy to do em one at a time since they take up so much space and material.

Hope that answers em all, but if you have any others, please post em up or shoot me an email. I will try to get better pics up soon. Gotta get some rechargeable batteries that are worth half a damn first..

Thanks!
