A while back I saw a custom burned Anakin Skywalker figure on SideShowCollectors.
http://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58036
I thought to myself, "That looks like an interesting use of some leftover parts" but at the time, I didn't HAVE the ssc Anakin figure. I do now and I also have (and already had :p ) the ROTS Ultimate Villain Vader eg: a "crispy" Anakin head.
I used one of the crappy hasbro bodies and have begun making my new figure. I'm not very far along, but I'll try to post pics as I make progress.

Custom figures are always the best because they're truly unique.
Not only that, but the person who takes the time to put together a custom figure usually makes the extra effort to make it more accurate and realistic than the mass-produced figures.

Looks like you're off to a great start d_jedi!

thanks, I actually got sidetracked the other night while looking for reference materials.. started looking at pics of burn vistims and such since there seems to be very little reference on the costume. (although I do have a few pics.. both from the dvd and ones I've collected online.)

minor update.. havent had much time between work and watching the in-laws kids but I managed to get a little done today.

I decided to try a test paint of the finished areas today. I like how it looks so far.

I still have a way to go on it, but I like how its turning out at this point. :D
I'm seriously considering adding some more color to the head...

See... THAT is why you should never display your action figures where there's direct sunlight!

:)

Awesome stuff, man!

lol @ direct sunlight..
or near open flame ;)
alright, it's basically finished now. YES, the neck is a little long but I'm ok with that. I MIGHT re-paint the head at some point but otherwise, I'm calling it done enough.
Until I decide to make the "bed" hes repaired on that is ;)

That's kind of gross babe but that's good because it looks real! lol...

I really have such a talented husband! Now, if only I could get you to finish my Titanic model!

Looking totally disgusting. Great job.

You should put a humourous label on the diorama.

"Nothing says good luvin like our Anakins fresh from the oven!" :D

Wow, very disturbing, very good looking. Most impressive!

Actually, a better humorous caption would be either:

"All right, we'll call it a draw" or

"Come back here! I'll bite your nipples off!" ;)

LOL
my wife performs thread necromancy and breathes life into this yet again. :lol

thanks guys. I never did get around to finishing the diorama.. the crispy Anakin just sits at the feet of my Sideshow Anakin. Someday I'll finish it.
I just started working on a new Vader figure. I'm using one of the Soldier Story Jake McNiece figures (I bought two of the nudes loose for $9.00 each) I've removed his mohawk and extended his body to the proper height. Now I need to build him up to Prowse's proportions.

Awesome work, about the only suggestion I would have is maybe some weathering on the mechanical arm...it just looks a tad too new to me...
