This was a comission piece we completed for Castrol. The entire costume was done in under 4 weeks. Once the concept drawings were approved we got to work.....
The Costume has since been completed and received by the client.
The idea was for a fun, almost comical looking superhero, with the standard colors and logos associated with this brand and product.
There is also a cape, (green with red lining) but when we took these photos the cape had already been sent out to them so they could personalize it with their own promotional information. I'm looking forward to seeing pics of them wearing it with the cape.
It's definately something different, but further goes to show how the image of a Superhero continues to grow and be welcomed by current pop culture.
No latex anywhere on this costume. All silicone.
The chest logo was a printed heat transfer logo and bonded to the chest.
The entire outfit is pretty flexible, and the cowl has all sorts of highlights and depth given to it by how we cast and painted it. Had we had a little more time I would have seamed the cowl better but, with the time factor..we just had no choice but to proceed with it as seen here.
You can see how the jaw moves with the wearers face...
Pretty flexible too...
It was a fun project, but a very short deadline to meet. I'm happy to say it all came together in the end.
Enjoy.
