Unlimited Run Cosmo Dragoon (3D Printed Kit)

Re: 3D Printed Kit - Cosmo Dragoon - Full Print #70

Would you get larger pics or maybe a reference of the episode?
I already have a original civil war era flask, looks like a third variation colt 1851 navy to 60's era colts revolver flask.
I already shared the run to french collectors, I will post the link on the forum too, even I personally won't get one, prefer to work on my steel version.

I have searched long and hard for pics of the case on the internet and these are all the ones I have. The line drawing that I haven't posted (because I couldn't find any on the web) is in the This is Animation Galaxy Express Memorial Collectionpp38. I'll get it scanned and post it.

Here is the Mazone detector from the original series. It slides onto the top of the dragoon from the back.

I thank my friend Matt with the crazy memory for these pics. Anyway, put this bad boy with the Dragoon and the Anti-Noo bullet and you have the ultimate dragoon prop. Who knows, maybe you can do a separate run for accessories. :)

I Totally agree with Matt 009!! But putting together all of the objects to go with the case would blow my mind away!!!!

Alberto

Beautiful work! It's difficult to create a physical model of an animated prop when the drawing vary. Capturing the spirit of the prop is what counts. You'd definitely done that in this case. I'm in for one when you make them available.

Thank You! My supplies should be in tomorrow, so look for these to go on sale w/in a couple days guys. I'm glad you're happy with the end result. The size is great and it's a cool looking gun. As far as the Mazone detector, it's a definite possibility for the future, just need to get a few other projects done 1st.

We did make a few small changes as suggested by Matt009 , removed the bolt heads from the right body and inserted a "hole" into the part of the body in front of the cylinder.

Probably not, but there are people out there that do finishing work. My issue is: 1) not enough time in the day and 2) I'm in Canada, sending painted, assembled guns across borders often causes issues...

And it's really easy to finish and paint one of these, assembly can be done in 5-10 minutes, and painting wouldn't be tough either. Just depending on how smooth you'd like it, the sanding will be the job that might take an hour or two...

I would love to post some pics of different versions of this guy painted but seem unable to put up any pics. Is anyone else having this problem?

To illustrate backof's point just look at the Mazon detector. Each shot has variances. The Dragoon is even more so. Just look at the pic above. In it are the Grace Modeling, Studio Treasure Island, Tanaka Thunder Workshop, Mandrake, and Taito versions. The are all very good (except for maybe the Taito) and I am sure the people crating the models cared a great deal about "getting it right".

Re: 3D Printed Kit - Cosmo Dragoon - Now Selling!

Thanks to those 4 who've paid, I'll get a list up soon. Been away from a computer most of the day, but the printers are running, I think I've got 2 done already!

Anyone else want one, lemme know cause I'll be switching my attention to BB-8 pretty soon

Here are some repaints of the Taito version. Lot of good ideas to match the various versions of the dragoon. I am partial to the brass and blued steel version myself.img_4[1].jpgdoragoon[1].jpg

Re: 3D Printed Kit - Cosmo Dragoon - Now Selling!

I like that one as well... I wonder how the blued steel effect was done. Do you have more pictures of that one?

I especially like the finish on this one, looks like a real nickel plated gun.
What would be the best finish for the harlock comodragoon for you?
I have seen a glazed grey one you pictured before, but I would think about a bluish black finish to look like a real treatment on steel.
Then, what finish before painting, sandblasted, sandpapered, polished, if based from a real old gun, would be a chemical treatment after rough polishing with a 220 to 400 grit rotating felt, with bluish dark hue on treatment.

Man, I wish I owed all these versions. But no, I have just done a ton of research on the dragoon and every time I have found a different site with different makes of the gun or paint jobs I will note the site (most times) and copy the pics for my dragoon file.
