It is a part to a model plane engine. Several parts like this was used in the technical building of the original Predator weapons and technology.
Ah I see I never thought of that so thank you for the info=)

That makes life easier, although they certainly aren't cheap! Has anybody purchased one of these yet?

Shipping from Japan was a PitA, but mine is currently sitting in customs in LA. With any luck, I will have it in hand by the end of the week and will take pics of the production piece. If it is even close to the paint master they have been showing off, I think this could quite possibly be the best helmet ever offered outside of George's castings from the original stunt.

Not sure why the complaints on the price. This seems to be right in line with Sideshow's pricing on their previous helmets and this appears to be cast directly from the original, showing an incredible number of details we have never seen before.

Yea I'd settle for a fan made for 1/3 of the price

I wasn't really complaining, I have a lot of the SS ones. That said, the Wolf started at $250 and that was a great bio replica. They have become more and more expensive over quite a short period. I like this one, I hope Coolprops prove themselves by making this a high quality item because Sideshows got worse and worse. Any competition is good. Maybe the large base accounts for a slightly higher price but I like the smaller ones myself that can be wall mounted. The Guardian mask itself looks great though. I look forward to the in hand pictures.

Not sure if this is known, but Kotobukiya is the company who actually manufactured the helmet, Coolprops just mastered it and is selling it. My experiences with Kotobukiya have been very good so I am really hoping the production piece is close to the prototype.
