Converting an OT Stunt Lightsaber blade

Slowly working on a video, I have to finish up 2 more then I can continue to work on this one

Running out of hard drive space

Can you see with a flashlight how far it goes? I mean, youd need a much thinner aluminum tube for the inner spacer if it goes a decent length

I’d have to machine something... this is paper thin.. I’m wondering if a 3D print will hold it good enough..

Of course I’m cursed this week with window and door installs/upgrades

That means late nights because I have to make the house weather tight before I leave..

Leaving barely any free time.. I fooling around with the blade and hoping this weekend to have that video done, I’ve got so many videos I’ve run out of hard drive space

So that forces me to finish them

Thats not bad, i mean for display. For dueling I dont know the length of the tang - i realized these are tapered which means the inner sleeve would have to be tapered too?!

Doesn’t seem mine is tapered. She stays the same diameter for awhile before the taper

Are we saying the inside of these fiberglass tubes isn't tapered from the base? Vadermania's sure looks like it is. I would think the changing thickness down the blade means theres less space to take up further in, which means we can't just stick a piece of round stock in there

She doesn’t start to taper until 2” down

Spent some time in the past couple of days building an ESB style Graflex stunt saber for my antenna blades. It‘s not a precise replica of an existing stunt saber. I have used what I found in storage (rubber T-track, ESB replica clamp card etc.) plus an aluminum tube and inner core.

that looks really cool! is it pretty sturdy?

very nice countersinking, clean job

I have a second, probably more accurate antenna STILL on it's way to me.

I have yet to make a inner/outer spacer for this one, Kinda wanted to do both of them at the same time

So, I removed my ski pole and wrapped gaff tape around my first tang (ignore that it's a threaded rod, my first core was tapped, I now do mild steel rods) - This is the AC Antennas CX-4 AIS, which might be rather similar to their current CX-4 I've heard

I kind of want to cut it a little shorter

now, compare these

The one in the pipe stunt here seems to have another coating

Great work tom, do you have a source for the 3m tape? Seems like eBay and Amazon doesn’t carry it

I did find one roll 3” wide but they want 110 bucks for it..

The 3” wide will wrap these new 18mm blades easier and neater though..

Cut mine down for the V3 length seen in the ESB BTS video. It's probably a different fighting antenna (it's black/gray) as opposed to the stark white one we see primarily see in the RotJ pics.
