Commander Data related question

Hello all. I've wondered a little bit on making a suit like Data. Here's a couple pictures. The first is from the series

and this is how he appears in a couple movies.

I just would like to know about the torso, and if it's possible to make one from either the series or movies? What fabric are They made of? and are there any patterns that I could see?

Thanks all!

The Starfleet 1701st has forums dedicated to TNG and also the movies

You can buy uniform patterns, rank pips and commbadges from Roddenberry.com

Keep in mind that even in TNG, the costumes went through a few different design revisions... the first season featured those skintight jumpsuits as in "Datalore" in your photo there

In the third season these were changed to two part outfits with a top and pants (you can just barely see the hem at the waist there)

The early version of this top, had two seams running down the front. these were later eliminated.

A new uniform for the film "Generations" was made but discarded at the last minute (the action figures for that film still wore that uniform though)

Instead the crew in Generations wore a mix of TNG and DS9 uniforms

Finally in "First Contact" the final gray and black uniforms were introduced, and these also showed up on DS9 and Voyager at times.

Thanks bunches to you both! :thumbsup
I think either the Third through Seventh season version, Generations, or the FC and Nemesis are good choices. I'll be doing more research on those, and I'll be joining those forums when I start.
