Come on really?????

I turned on Aliens this morning, for the million'th time, and then asked my wife, "Why do we have to wait five, ten, some times fifteen years between really great space adventure films?"

I mean, is it really that hard for Hollywood to make a watchable sic fi film? They make frigging 10 romantic comedy movies every year.

Now I know what your going to say, "we just had BSG series, a new star trek, and Tron" all of which I liked a great deal," but come on.

Is our desire for the "gritty used future" movies too much to ask for at least one good flick a year?:cry

Sorry to vent, I just want more:angry

Evidentally you have never heard the old show-biz adage, "leave 'em wanting more" ;)

Agreed^, but damn it I want to be saturated in it? Surely you don't believe there is such a thing as too many ship corridors, greeblys, and blinking lights do you?:)

No one believes there can be too many ship corridors, greeblys and blinking lights. And don't call me Shirley :lol

Or "Make it faster, make it cheaper!", followed by "why does this look like crap?!"

Ten romantic comedies cost each a tenth of a good scifi movie, but are less prone to really bomb and generate no profit.

What's it gonna take to get Ridley Scott to return to the sci-fi genre?

Surprising I just read the news that he was working on an Alien prequel, and that some how changed into "Prometheus" which is a sic fi film, release next year. I did not know that.
