Collaboration to create full “Advanced Potion-Making”

I think we can use this picture for Libatius Borage, but(if I'm not wrong) he is Charles Darwin image

I like the idea of using a good black-and-white photo for Libatius, but that is Darwin and may be a little too recognizable. I did a little searching though and came up with a few good options we could use:
1.1033250 2.1033251 3.1033252 4.1033253 5.1033254

I personally prefer number 2 or 5 since they seem like the kind of wizard who's comfortable outside a lot, collecting ingredients and such.

This is all I have about the Wolfbane Potion section

Although I would like to use that, unfortunately I believe that's part of another RPF member's work. If they consent to us using it for this project then we will, but it's up to them.

I like the number 5 too. And number 1 looks passionate and a like bit crazy (in a good way).

The pages of Wolfsbane are made by me, inspired by web pages and images from the internet. If someone wants the word document, I can pass it

Thanks, the Magician!

I know AlarmEighteen used a very similar, if not the same image for his book. If we do decide to use an image to represent Libatius, then we should get a new image.

1033275

Not necessarily this image, but we can definitely find something and tweak it enough to make it ours.

That brings up another point, do we need/want to show an image of Libatius in APM?

edit: I should refresh the page before posting :p Seems I'm a tad late to this party!

Just wanted to show an update of the endpage art:

Pattern_v1.jpg

I'm now in the process of cleaning up the floral pattern which is more time consuming than I thought.

DarkWaters,
About a month ago, I began to draw each of the stamping plants separately. To be able to use them both in edition 2 or 4. But with exams and work, I have it a little apart. If you need help, write without problem

These are some pictures, published here previously

Great job! The border around the runes should be a bit thinner though, and the floral pattern itself should be enlargened a bit.

Thanks, LorduDesign!

The image is shrunk down from a 10 in x 8 in resolution, so it seems small, but the floral pattern should be the correct size as I'm using a photo from the book as an overlay. I plan to double check all the sizing once I clean up and vectorize all the graphics.

Also, the Magician, I think you got the editions flipped :) 2nd ed. has the "greenish" pattern.

Currently working on the 9-page section: The Importance of Dragon's Hair. Advanced Potion-Making does contain, or at should contain plenty of potions, but it is still primarily a school textbook and will have a whole lot of non-recipe sections like this one. I'll squeeze as much text as I can out of my imagination and throw in some illustrations and diagrams to fill up the remaining space. I might throw in a recipe too, but not sure which.

Wow, this is fantastic! Very well written, Sir!

So here's my recreation of the endpages which is 10 x 8 inches. I'm basing this on each page being 5x8 inches. I guess we didn't really settle on the dimensions we wanted this book to be, but I'm seen some members here use the 5x8 which feels about right to me. Thoughts?

Anyway, check out the endpages and let me know if there's any critiques.

I also found a site that someone used to get their endpages printed professionally:

It looks like they did gold foil for the floral pattern and a white foil for the symbols and line work. If anyone needs this file set up for foiling, PM me about it!

This endpaper looks really cool!! awesome work man.
I think the real prop its not made with foil, it looks more like it has been printed in a kind of metallic paper!

Huh, that is interesting! I'll have to investigate that idea some more!

Also, thank you!

These are sketch pages for the section Potion Making Process, Part II.

I think that the physical and chemical processes are necessary for the elaboration of potions. Symbols can be used in the schemes of potion recipes. What do you think?

I took the information from an old book of alchemy "The Art of Distillation".

This looks great, nicely done! I'll go ahead and add this to the master inDesign file! Thanks, the Magician!
