Hello guys..

Just wanted to inform those who are interested, which props were used in-film by the heroes. Maybe someone is lucky enough to find similar props in our real world :) (or its dummy-versions)

Re: CLOVERFIELD Props

Well, I do.

It´s no blockbuster or something like that. But I find it much better than Godzilla. And the look of the movie through the sight of the camera was great at cinema.

Re: CLOVERFIELD Props

Did anyone actually like this movie?

It made $80 million in the theaters and $14 million so far for DVD (it's only been out for a week), so I'm assuming there are a fair amount of people who liked it. I'm one of them. I'm looking forward to the next one.

I guess you're right. I am a little cinacle about this movie. With all the hype it had, I just felt cheated.

Neat props though.

Chalk some of these numbers up to the William Castle " you might get sick" ad campaign ". Very little repeat business. Same as with Blair Witch - all it takes is a sequel to kill the whole thing.

Re: CLOVERFIELD Props

Hi,

I liked the movie too. Different way to film the movie, good work in general....and yes, really better than Godzilla.

Re: CLOVERFIELD Props

I enjoyed the movie. I usually hate shakey cam (one of the reasons I stopped watching the new BSG early on), but it is effective in this movie and enhances the emotional impact. And I like that they only gave glimpses of the monster throughout the the movie. It was kind of like ALIEN in that you never really saw the monster that was stalking you.

I haven't picked up the dvd yet because I was waiting for the BRD release. It's been announced for a June 3rd release with all kinds of special features.

Yeah, I didn't think the movie was half bad either. But I'm a big time kaiju fan so I'm a little biased here ...

I'm in the same boat as you Brad, their was really nothing innovating or original done in the film that hasn't already been done with much more success.

Re: CLOVERFIELD Props

Any other props?
I would hate to see this thread turn into just a like/dislike, movie bashing one - not really the point.

Re: CLOVERFIELD Props

I personally thought it was horrible. Waste of 1 hour and 15 minutes. The only cool part was the monster, who you barely even got to see. I wish they'd of went with that whale design, it'd of been so much cooler.

Re: CLOVERFIELD Props

I liked the movie quite a bit!
I'm with you. I thought it was pretty entertaining. I liked how they worked a little humor into the dialogue:

"I just can't stop thinking how scary it would it be if a flaming homeless guy came out of the dark right now!"

I lolled @ that one. :lol

Hey, ToNIC, if you add "screen used" to your title I'm sure more people would veiw your thread.
Man, why didn't I get a Slush T-shirt when I had the chance? :cry

Hmmm...? I thought it was a novel take on the "giant monster invades..." movie and the first person perspective was more involving than the traditional monster movie narative. I wasn't disappointed, even with all the hype surrounding the film.

Honestly, I think it would have been better if they lost the last bit after, well... That thing that happens, and you think it's over, but it's not (spoiler successfully averted!).

Re: CLOVERFIELD Props

I loved this movie; thank you for posting these pictures all in one place. Great reference.
