It may get marketed as such but LucasFilm animation and Dave Filonni intended for Ahsoka walking into the sunset to be the series conclusion. These thirteen episodes provide various additional insights into sone outstanding story arcs but there was no opportunity for them to create an new series finale, they werecoy given the resources to complete these shows referred to as The Lost Missions. Watching these with the expectation that they will flow to a unified conclusion is a fools errand.

The reason why these 13 episodes exist is because they were made with the idea that the Clone Wars would have a season 6. If you remember, almost right after the they pulled any new episodes from CN, they showed us the scene of from the first episode.
These episodes were not just dreamed up to add 13 extra episodes. They were going to happen. Most likely the other 7 episodes of the season were going to be one arc about Maul and the other about Ahsoka.
Right after the announcement of sea on 5 being the last season on CN, Dave F. tells us: 'Clone Wars' still has life in the 'Star Wars' universe
Filoni also talks about the Order 66 story arc, the fate of Ahsoka Tano, and the possibility of more stories from The Clone Wars appearing in some form.

Also, I think you mis-remember what Dave said before. He always intended for Ashoka to walk away from the jedi and off into the sunset. But it was not the end of her story. But I do believe he said that if that was to be the end of her story (because they were unable to tell anymore stories), he would be happy with it ending that way.
I never understood why people think Ahsoka leaving the jedi was the end of her story. "Hey everybody. Luke is separating from his group on Endor. I guess we are done with his story." "It's called The Clone Wars", not "What Happens inside the Jedi Temple."
Don't take offense, but if it is between Disney/LFL and… well… anyone who is not. I am going to side with Disney/LFL and accept the fact the these last 13 episodes are Season 6.

No, I agree the intention when these 13 were made they were so as part of the ongoing story. When it became clear that there would be no Season 6 in it's entirety and the series was being ended, Dave went and created the final episode of Season 5 as the end of the series. Undoubtedly had Disney chosen to continue the series we would never have had that episode end the way it did. But we did. The fact that Disney has chosen to allow them to finish these 13 and release them certainly can be called a Season if one is so inclined, and their marketing department clearly is, but there clearly was not going to be an additional "finale" so to speak. I don't consider Ahsoka's story over yet, but in regards to the CW cartoon it is. And there will be no additional insight into Darth Maul, Boba Fett, the Mandalorians, ect. Point being don't go watch Season 6 on Netflix with that expectation and that there will be a definitive conclusive episode.

My initial post was in response to the person who expressed disappointment that there was no sense of conclusion at the end of this brief season. I was trying to put these episodes into proper context as to his they came about and what expectations should be regarding their content.I have finished the first 3. I love the new insight into Order 66. I do find it odd that Fives seemed to not feel he could go directly to Shak-ti with his suspicions or bring the switch of tumors immediately to get attention. The episodes are a little one note with Fives and the droid always on the run as well.
Yeah, they have been talking about this on JediJournals, RebelForce Radio, and the ForceCast the past few months. Sound really interesting.

FYI: my purpose of posting it was not in regards to breaking the news about the comic because as you mentioned, that has been know for months. The purpose of my post was to let people know of the release date for issue #2. I believe the date is new information.

Finished Season 6. IMHO, if any episode/arc was a series finale, it was 6.10 - 6.13.

Good question Dan. If I was just coming to the series now with the official chronological timeline and the convenience if using Netflix to watch them in that order as opposed to the broadcast order, I would make the effort to watch in chronological order. There are more then a few episodes that are a little confusing due to the way they were aired.

I think I recommend chronological order as well. The problem is that you don't go into an episode knowing that it is something out of order. Honestly, I knew there were some episodes that were back stories but I did not know it was to this extent. I plan to re-watch in chronological order now.

Gotcha. So nothing is lost in terms of big reveals or "Oh THAT'S what was going on" by watching in chronological order, rather than broadcast order? Or is the emotional impact better in broadcast order?
I tend to prefer chronological to broadcast, but sometimes a flashback episode packs more emotional punch because it has greater significance since you know what follows it, than it would when viewed on its own.
