CLONE WARS weekly discussion thread

Really enjoyed this episode...I think the payoff is going to be huge. I've always felt like the Jedi probably had it coming, and this arc might just suggest why. I mean, this religious elite who enforce the law from an ivory tower, apparently acting outside of any judicial system and working in concert with elected officials at their own whim, using slave soldiers to put down an independent uprising...yeah, I can see why the common man might really loathe them. They're too powerful for their own good, arrogant, and patently dangerous.

I wish Lucas had fleshed out their place in the political system more clearly. But what can I expect from a man who makes everyone and their pet dog a damn general?

Russo-ISC’s speech pattern, name, and habit of flipping his visor to punctuate his speech are all nods to David Caruso’s role in CSI Miami.
Oh! So that is why I wanted to shoot it between the eyes. :behave

As of Ahsoka, I'm sure if George had not sold everything to Disney he would have added her to the next re-release of the movies.

And who take children from their families and make them commit to the Jedi path before they're at an appropriate age to decide for themselves, and taught that having any attachments to their families is a weakness that must be purged.

Yeah, good lord, they're awful. Hopefully in ep 7 the new Jedi follow some kind of humane, reformed path so I can root for them haha

Another good one. Glad to see Ahsoka getting a substantial part. Also liked seeing Anakin about to lose it and Tarkin being so Tarkiny.

Nice nod to The Fugitive.

yup, and all that interior death star looking prison with stormys running around made the whole thing feel original trilogy old school! brought me home for a while

It hints that the show is getting closer to the rise of the Empire. Suspenseful episode, some great action scenes. did anyone notice that the ending looked like the underworld level on SW 1313?

Great episode. The lighting was gorgeous, in particular. Is it me or are they using a lot more OT music lately? Anyway, I'm loving this arc.

With Palpatine besting Maul and the serious backdrop of the OT in Ahsoka's story, I think this is among the best of TCW so far. She definitely has to disappear somehow/sometime; I wonder if this is it...

I just got caught up with the last four (my nephew hasn't wanted to watch them for some reason so I waited). Wow! They are really getting the animation down. The clonetroopers moved as good as the movie versions. All the characters' movement looks really realistic now.
