CLONE WARS weekly discussion thread

Had lucas had his way with ahsoka's fate, what do you think her death scene would have been like? would it have mirrored obi-wan's future death scene, where she sacrifices herself to give Anakin more time? Would she have somehow ended up dueling him (to prevent her dying at the hands of another jedi) and having him strike the fatal blow and die in his arms? Hearing Faloni talk about Lucas' intent with her character, had my mind reeling at the emotional resonance that could have come from an Ahsoka death scene. Any thoughts on how it would have played out had Lucas won that Ahsoka lives/dies tug of war?

Maybe I missed this, but what is the source for the claims of Lucas wanting her to die?

There are some videos on starwars.com's clone war section...of dave filoni talking about being instrumental in keeping ahsoka alive because lucas had planned her to die. I think this interview video pops up as a 'related' video after the video for 'wrong jedi' plays. I'll post a like later if you havent found it by tonight.

Who said she wasn't active in the rebellion during the ORIGINAL TRILOGY? It's not like we saw every rebel and every activity of the rebels during that time.

Exactly what I meant, it seems to me that Snips wouldn't be one to just sit around, lay low and do nothing, she's just not that type of person esp. not after training under Anakin for all those years. I'm not sure about her joining the Rebellion but I can certainly see her trying to be low key but at the same time helping random people in need and (subtlely) tweaking the noses of any Imperial forces she comes across. I could even see her helping out the Rebellion here and there by distracting Imps while a Rebel agent makes their get away or anonymously providing info to them but I can't see her being much more open than that. I've always seen her as something of a lone wolf type, thanks to the influence of Anakin and after the whole trial by the Jedi council I get the impression that she'd be very distrusting of authority and the Rebellion, despite its good intentions, would likely be too organized and disciplined with its rules & regulations, not to mention formal rank structure, for her to be entirely comfortable serving in it.

What I would really like to see would be Asohka in the new series that they're doing, I could take or leave her being in the new trilogy so long as her fate is explained to us during the new series. The new series would be the natural place to deal with the further adventures of Asohka Tanno.

Ah, ok. I thought you meant something different.

But I agree with everything you just said. I think that Ashoka's next stop would be to join Lux Bonteri in the Onderon Rebellion. I think that sort of affiliation would position her and Lux to instrumental in the Rebellion against the empire when it happens.

wish it were true but I can't find any listings for new Clone Wars for the foreseeable future listings.. .most likely will be released straight to dvd

I visit and "like" a lot of Star Wars and movie/tv based sites. I would have to believe that if there was any confirmed word of the continuation of TCW in any form, it would have gotten plenty of traffic by now. So for now it would seem it is still unknown.

Yeah I guess it's not true. It seemed legit, but I haven't seen anything on the official site yet.

I was looking for something in an old SW Insider mag and they had an article about Mandalorians by Karen Traviss. It still ticks me off the CW caused her to quit writing SW. I still think they could have easily salvaged/retconned her storylines after the CW series was over. They could have said that the Clone Wars and Death Watch caused Mandalorians to look to their old ways in order to protect themselves, and then bye bye pacifism.

They said several weeks back that the unaired episodes are supposed be on Cartoon Network August 17.

I just saw an ad for the return of the clone wars on adult swim on Cartoon Network that it will be on at 3am on Saturdays as part of the Toonami lineup. But the ad said nothing about new episodes and the commercial showed clips from the existing 1-5 seasons. As far as I can tell, the question of when we will see unaired episodes is still unanswered. :-(

Does anybody know if its true that Dave Filoni will be overseeing the Rebels project as well?

Also, I'm hoping that it will take one the same CG format as it's Clone Wars predecessor. Any word on that? Thanks!

I noticed some recordings of the show on my TiVo yesterday but they were from season one.

Sent from my Etch A Sketch.

Yes, and yes. Dave Filony showed some renderings of what he was working on, on Star Wars Celebration Europe a month ago. No video, just stills. There are pictures and video recordings of that on various sites.
