Clone Commander Bacara

Hi guys n gals.

I'm beginning my next build, a Commander Bacara costume. So far I've received one of Evo3's superb Bacara lids :cooland some equally cool 'steelblitz' pauldron accesories

As it arrived

Trimmed and put together for the first time.

Eye slot cut out ( it's gonna look mean )

A little more trimming / smoothing, aerators placed ( temporary )and the first gray 'cheek' coat

Yeah, its a work of art. He managed to get that lid looking even MEANER.:love

I'm smoothing the inside of the helmet flare tonight. Hopefully once the paint has cured tomorrow I can see if it's smooth enough to progress with the outside of the 'dome' section.

This may not look like much of an update ( from the pic ), but I've filled and wet sanded the INSIDE of the helmet flare. This took several goes until I was happy enough to paint it.

Happy with the result. It looks nice and smooth down the sides of the faceplate and up from the back

The missing Evo3 vocoder arrived today, so I had to paint it and blu-tack it temporarily in place.

While I was there I painted the helmet band matt gray and positioned the antena.

Painted and fitted the 'pips' to the front of the dome yesterday. As it was starting to look a little bit closer to finished I test fitted the lense material.

I think I'm in LURVE......:love

Great helmet!

Well the helmet is finally done.

I've attached the dome to the mask section with fibreglass resin. The inside is blacked out, the lense material and teeth grill added. The weathering is done.

I'd be interested to hear what you guys think

Getting some more parts for Christmas, so next will be the shoulder pauldron and sniper plate.
