Clockwork Orange Alex' Bowler Hat

Hi Fellows,
The famous bowler hat was on auction:

now I'm wondering if anybody knows the exact inner label? The Dunn & Co. Bowler hats are often at the auction sites, but I don't know which one is the correct labelled, respectively the accurate hat?

Well, well, well, welly, welly, welly...

I dunno' but I have seen way too many of Stanley's 'so called' props
turn up recently when, in actual fact, most of them are sitting in a stable
block in St Albans, England. :unsure

hm, too bad that there's no more informations about that hat... But I guess, if u go with the GA Dunn & Co. labelled bowler hats u can't come closer to the original. but I've seen so many different labels...its not that easy to choose...:lol

If you watch the film on DVD and freeze the frame just as the bowler is knocked off Alex's head in the Derelict Casino fight scene, you will just catch a glimpse of a crimson liner. That will get you a little closer. I've seen quite a few of those liners with varying G.A. Dunn logos. They must have changed them a LOT.

I've since discovered that Kubrick gave poster artist Philip Castle one of at least three bowlers acquired for use in the film. Kubrick never asked for it back and Castle still has it. The Kubrick family owns another one and McDowell was gifted the third one.

I know this is..errr...old hat - if you pardon the pun. But the bowler(s) used from the film is from Austin Reed, Regent Street, London.
