Cloak In Rain

just wondering what you think...........

predators use cloak by bending light......
so if it rains .......would they look all rainbowish ???

no actually as seen in the movies the cloak takes a few seconds before it deactivates. (king willy kill) (P2 in slaughter house with sprinklers) (P1 coming out of water) (wolf coming out of water)

water deactivates the cloak. its pretty much like the predators cloaking device is like
circuits all over the body and if water touches it, it gets shorted out. not literately thought as the device is much more sophisticated.

so if it rained, no cloak lol

but you get the picture ;)

yea i forgot about that ,.....
i need to just stick to the roots,.....
start gettin confused when AVP rolls thru

Well in AVPR wolf came out of the water. He still had cloaking on. on top of that it was the darkest movie ever.

true, now that i think of it. hmmm guess they didnt think of that when the directors made it. probably just wanted a dramatic effect lol

or maybe he was more advanced ??

That could be... Water being a definate problem with the cloak, maybe by the time of the events of AVPR, the problem was solved?

the one thing you have to remember is that a predator cloak bends light around it...it doesn't act like a prism and brake up light...thats why you won't get the rainbow effect.

yea true,......guess it's all just kinda theory ,.....it might be possible though

The cloacking doesn't stop automatically and totally when it's confronted to water, the King Willie scene proves it.
You only see the Predator in the reflect, but King Willie just saw a blurry silhouette surronded by sparks here and there.

So far the only movies wich don't show us a good old cloacking are AVP Anderson and Rodriguez's Predators.

From what i have seen in predator 1 the predator unloaks when being completely covered in water mainly due to the gauntlet computer getting wet and shorting it out. In predator 2 alough you got the sparks and such, the predator didn't actually uncloak, im assuming because only his feet got wet and his gauntlet remained dry, alough the full reflection of the predator can be seen in the puddle while the pred is still cloaked. In the slaughterhouse the radioactive dust that adhered to preds body prevented him from cloaking and the sprinklers getting him wet meant he had no chance.

In AVPR i can only assume the predator tech guys must have created a water resistant gauntlet, because it seems that the gauntlet is the source of the unloaking problem. As mentioned in predators by laurence fishbourne that each year they have newer technology.
