And if they do this project, I think it will be really expensive. I saw the last anoouncement of the Jurassic Park 1:1 Egg. It looks nice, but it is really not a steal. There are also a lot of better looking egg props out, for less than this one...

I've been keeping up to date with CC's goggles via their FB page, where they post video updates. So far they have 3D scanned an original pair and have promised a 1:1 replica from those scans. They discussed the eye pieces having a manual wind mechanism to imitate the function of the original prop. And they will light up.

They also showed a half scale 3D print painted up. Looked quite nice. They said they may offer those through subscription boxes or similar.

Either way they are on the horizon!

I'll wait and see with these. Thus far, Chronicle hasn't really wowed me with their paint jobs. The Bull Bust was abysmal in its paint, the Breakout Rex was a fiasco for a lot of people, (luckily there's always Manuel Unda to the rescue), and the Stegosaurus 1:16th maquette is decent, but a bit excessive in some of the paint applications. I know the Compy proto was painted by Tim Gore, who worked with SWS during TLW, so we'll see. I've been saving for that real "WOW!" prop, but it has yet to come in any form of the production stuff. I'm hoping the Male Raptor 1:1 bust is good enough for the money. Frankly, there's a lot I hope for from Chronicle, but I have yet to be satisfied with any of it.

Just a quick update on the goggles from Chronicle. They released a video on their facebook page and explained that they may be partnering with someone to bring the cost of the goggles down - vastly down. They mentioned under $100 as a ballpark figure. So I wonder if they are going down the line of the Power Rangers legacy series, or the Marvel Legends, where they offer very low cost replicas that are actually very good value. I think this is great news for collectors, I hope the quality of the airbrushing and other QC is maintained.

There was mention that in these versions you WILL be able to see through them - up till now word was they were going to match the screen used pair they sourced from Universal which were opaque, you could not see through. So that's good news too. Brings them closer to the hero pair Joe Mazello uses when he turns them on.

We know there will be lights inside, but so far the word is the lenses will manually wind in and out via some sort of hand control.

Here's some pics of the 3D print out shown in the video, it's one section of the whole print. Looks like black SLS, could be wrong. Looks really good so far.

I can only think it's like the power rangers legacy line. Alternatively could it be a toy replica akin to the ghostbusters trap? If so, I would love to see a working pair made. My only concern with it being a toy is that the accuracy might get overlooked in the same way the Mattel hoverboard was.

If they come close to the Matty Ghost Trap or the PKE Meter, that would be awesome. They come really close to the Prop, even if there's a lot of plastic. You won't have the feeling like you wear the real deal, but if they look like the prop from the movie, I think that's good enough for me...

"Are they heavy?
- Nope...
Then they're cheap, put 'em back..." :lol

Whoa. Under $100?!

As long as there are lights or it can be relatively easily modded to have them, I'll be happy. They'll look fine on my shelf, ESPECIALLY at that price.

But if it's under $100, would the assymmetry and quirks be preserved? It's a bit like the Mattel hoverboard - the lower you go, the lower the bar for accuracy. Either way the price is great

Come on, guys. We are not just prop collectors but prop builders. We'll modify anything for the sake of accuracy. If they're 100 bucks and they are close, we can make them stellar. We just need a starting point.

True - but as someone who's built a pair matching the scans to the best of my ability - these things are very assymmetrical. I'd probably start from scratch rather than use a symmetrical base. So I hope the sculpt of the thing is spot on as they've alluded to on their facebook page. Or atleast make a premium version more akin to the movie prop.

If I were a betting man, I would say not mechanized but working lenses, as in possible movement by a lever of sorts? (Think the rebel ring with the opening aperture)

Oh good call. That makes me feel better about my Rylo kit that is getting built up to animate.

They're answering questions on Facebook about the googles. Turns out they're going to be interchangeable, not motorized.

This was their response: replaceable, see through extended and closed. Far to complicated to make them move for the cost.
