I was thinking the same thing as my Rylo is also made with the 10 oz can and has a flat base while Russ's has the correct curved base and 11 oz can.

With regard to Barbasol cans.
Only the net contents of the can changed from 11oz to 10oz. While the change was noted on the can, the actual size of the Barbasol can never changed.
It's an important distinction to make because when one thinks the actual can is smaller, it suggests the replica inside is too. Again, only the contents weight changed. The shell remained the same size.
To Apollo's point. Nobody makes an accurate outer can. That style no longer exists. A nice replica can be made using a wrap against a properly dimensioned donor shell though.
While the spirit of the classic design w/ Barber pole stripes remained on the Barbasol cans for years, the actual mid 90's can did have a different shape at the top lip of the can and of course things like the web address above the bar code weren't there. There were also changes in the text, the "steel" logo etc. that were altered over the years. The front graphic stayed the same (for the most part) until the most recent change a few years ago.

As noted by others, I don't think the size of the RB can is different (but I'll let you know when mine comes in the mail, I'll compare to an old Barbasol can I had stored away for cryocan purposes) what is different about the RB can is the shape at the top and it is indeed wrapped with the original design, but it looks like its been put on with some sort of laminated paper— so accurate in one way, inaccurate in another.
Hm... maybe another thread needs to be started about 2020 onward cryocan options or something, all this is delightfully on-topic yet off-topic that makes me feel weird posting about the accuracies/set-backs/etc about another can (despite the can this thread is about being extinct).

This is a bitter pill to swallow and a wake up call for all of us, who pay upfront. This debacle has brought into sharp focus, the level of protection we do not currently have from our banks/PayPal, in the unfortunate event of a company going belly up. I for one, will be more careful on what payment method I use, going forward.
Have to include the Licensors as well, LFl ,Disney, in the case of ANOGOS and how they have stolen cash from hundreds...
It's also a good idea to see if it's available from a third party for preorder. I preordered this from Big Bad Toy Store for no money down, though I'm sure I had to put a deposit down, they would have been easier to get a refund from than having to file a claim with Visa/Paypal.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the can or a prototype version, supposed to make a cameo in the new JW film? That might inspire someone else to release one. I was just about to pull the trigger on the RBReplicas one, but after reading the review PhantonForge posted I'm not so sure I shouldn't wait.
Would not surprise me if it turns out to be one 0f Rylos in the movie
