My grandmother was ticked when they rebooted the Wizard of Oz. "Judy Garland was no Dorothy Dwan."

Then I geuss it's a generational thing. Being a kid watching movie's has an impact, getting older and seeing "someone-something" change ridiculously pisses us off. LOL I actually liked the remake/redo/retelling of "apocalypse now"... it wasn't GREAT but It was a twist that I enjoyed watching for the differences. I didnt think the actor's could pull it off after growing up watching A.N. but It didn't piss me off or make me hate it..

I liked some of the choices they made here.
Don't get me wrong, I still like the mainline films BUT I find the idea of a killer robot slightly more compelling/realistic than a doll (re?)animated by voodoo.
Making him cloud/bluetooth interconnected makes the whole thing even scarier because you can potentially destroy the body and all he has to do is upload his consciousness to the cloud and wait.
Also, calling them "Buddi" instead of "Good Guys" was amusing because of the old "My Buddy" dolls back in the 80s (My wife tells a story about how she and her sisters got creeped out by their brother's My Buddy after they saw Child's Play and tossed it down a garbage chute).

My mom's best friend pulled her son's my little Buddy doll from the attic and put it in his bed with him as he slept after he'd watched child's play that night.

The first Child's Play was really goofy, I viewed it as almost a parody. My kid wanted to see this because of Hamill doing the voice but the trailer changed her mind... thankfully.
