Hello all! I was checking out the Jurasic Park thread and looking up the Jeep I started thinking, what are some Cheap movie car replica options out there? We know about the Delorian, Mad Max's interceptor, etc...but those are not low budget. I am curious what icons you score for less than 5K. What do you think?

To get things started I offer up the MIB 1987 Ford Crown Vic LTD. You can find them for under 2K, and for not alot you can add the 8track, logos and the red button lever.

I was lucky to get my Torino for 10K on ebay a couple of years ago. I've since put more into it but it pretty much came done and you can still find come good deals out there.

I've been asked this a few times at some of the Star Car Central events:

Bluesmobile and robocop are the easiest with the most bang for your buck. Any clapped-out police car will work as a bluesmobile if you do it with enough style!

I also think a first generation Celica with a paint job and a custom fiberglass front bumper would make a fantastic Inspector Gadget car from the cartoon. You can turn it into a van too with some creative use of pop-up tent materials and technology.

One of the guys in the group also made a vintage minivan into "Ratchet" from the transformers cartoon which is a lot of fun for not too much expense. There are quite a few transformer cars which would be fun out of the box, and the more gadgets you add to them the more fun you can have.

Closer to $7-10K will get you a serviceable Herbie the Love bug, Knight Rider KITT Trans Am, or my recent purchase, a BMW 7 series from "Tomorrow Never Dies".

There's also the DIY batmobile approach (http://www.therpf.com/f9/66-miata-batmobile-build-106822/) which is low on cost but high on awesome.
