Cerberus- Vincent Valentine's gun from FFVII: Dirge of Cerberus

Hi all, I just thought I'd share some photos of my first gun build of any sort (Not including my E-11 because that was a kit build).

It's Cerberus, the weapon wielded by Vincent Valentine in Final Fantasy VII's Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus as seen here:

I've got nowhere near the skill or experience of many of the people here but I gave it a crack to go with the full costume I was making and here's how I went about it using mostly scrap bits of pipe and pine I had lying around.

It's nothing special, just a static prop I put together over a few days but it seemed to get a lot of positive feedback at the convention I wore the costume at.

I like it! One of the things that bug me about a lot of cosplayer's props are that they don't start with a good base that is the proper scale or dimensions. The great thing about your gun is that you got the shape and proportions right early on, so it's instantly recognizable as Vincent's gun before you start adding details. The little details make it look good in photos, but getting the shape right from the start makes it look good from a distance!

Are you planning on starting another gun-making project now that this one is done?

Thanks. I had a template made up in illustrator tracing a picture of the gun then scaled it to myself to get it right.

I'm going to be starting work on Vash's gun from Trigun: Badlands Rumble soon so I'll put up a thread for that too when I start it.
