Casting with flour and water...

Half of me says that this is ridiculous to ask, the other half thinks that maybe it's not all that stupid.
Anyway, assuming that I am able to fill the mold as desired, whether poured or pressed in, what is the downside of using a flour and water mix to cast with? I would think that if too wet, it would shrink too much, but if any shrinking is to be avoided, surely this could be something useful to cast with, no? As a plus, it could then be baked to harden it even further?

Any feedback would be amazing. Thank you - Chris

I would only use it as a brush on paste! If becomes to thick and does not dry it will create mold and destroy what ever you built. Stop by www.stolloween.com and check out his site. He is very good with flour and water lol. I myself would never consider using it to cast with! But maybe he has some insight.

I would think plaster might work better for casting than flour and water. It's pretty cheap and pretty easy to get, so it might work better for what you want.
