Casino Royale Bond and Vesper's Phone

Thought some of you Casino Royale fans might like to see these Vesper dummy phones. I know I wanted to have one of her phones in my display but since I wasn't going to use it I didn't want to pay $400 for a dust collector. So I did the next best thing, I bought a few of the static dummy phones they use for store displays. These are made from the SAME materials but do not have the electronic GUTS of the working phones....all the buttons, thumb wheel and physical mechanics work and the details are all there FOR A FRACTION OF THE PRICE. I also ordered several of Bond's phone. My plan is to crack one of these open so I can put a screen of Mr. White's phone number.

By the way, I have positivelly identified the AIRPORT TERRORIST phone and it is the K600i in silver. And yes dummy phones of this are available....just received mine and it is fantatstic...now to find the exploding key chain that goes with it.

where did you git the store dummy phone :confused

Google it. There is a place called dummyphones.com plus others.

Were you able to get silver dummy phones for Bond's? The real deal phone in silver is only available for a limited time (if you can still find it) and go for about 200 more than the standard black.

I was going to get it, but then I found out it doesn't support 850, so I looked at the k790a (exact same phone, just different frequencies). And even though it's black, I'm happy with it.

I have Chris Cornell's theme as my ringtone.

Thats a beautiful idea. Any thoughts on how to change the screen so that it shows Mr. Whites numbers? like a print out or something?

Also...since its the same phone without any inards...is it possible to get the silver Bond one, and swap the guts out of a black one into the silver one? just wondering

Anyone have a real k800i? If so, I may be able to help.

I have some experience programming/designing SE cell phone interfaces. I might do one based on the screens from CR. I've already done a HAL and ST Communicator for a different model that have been very popular as "freeware" SE themes. With SE, if you know the file structure you can pack your own theme with animated gifs, custom text/design interfaces, etc. All you have to do is download the theme into your phone and you've got an entire new look.

:)

Also..do you guys know they make inexpensive replacement face plates for this model of phone? I haven't checked specifically for silver, but I'd bet a vendor out there sells them.

Generally dummy phones are made by completely different manufacturers, so I'm pretty sure the cases wouldn't be compatible with the real phones. I mean the K800i dummies we have in store aren't made anywhere near as good as the real deal, plus the covers and memory card covers are pretty much stuck on with glue.

Cool stuff tho, I think it's a much better idea displaying dummies than the real phones themselves, plus they're much more economical. ;) I must admit though, the K800i in silver is the next phone IÂ’m planning to get, I have the black and I like the brown, but it's not quite the same now is it... :)

Cool prop. I thought that I was watching a 2 1/2 hour cell phone ad...oh, no wait......It was actually Casino Royale.

:lol

To be fair, I don't think that was their intent (though I'm sure Sony didn't mind plugging their line of cell phones). Think about it. Now in 2006, most cellphones are higher tech and can do more than most of the Bond gadgets from the 60's. They are almost at a tricorder level now. :p It was neat seeing how Bond was smart enough to track people by calling their cell number and seeing who picked up. This Bond used his intellect a lot more than unfeasible high tech gizmos and the gizmos he had for the most part weren't far-fetched.

Here's a 00 branch desktop for the k800i

The logo is skewed like the ones seen on the desktops of M's computer, and there's room at the top for the signal indicators and at the bottom for the soft buttons.
