Cardstock Boba Build

I posted this over on TDH, but I figured I'd share my progress here as well!

Well, I decided to do another scratchbuilt Boba bucket so I can get a decent mold made because my other helmet wasn't intended to be screen accurate. I decided to go with Skupilkinson's pep file instead of WOF templates. No real reason behind this except that I have used WOF templates before and wanted to try out a pep Fett bucket. I had most of the basic build done in 2 or 3 hours....paper craft is amazing, but I hate cutting stuff out. I'm probably just lazy :D! Enjoy...

Looking good,I'm half tempted to do me a Fett bucket using either the pep files or the WOF files and then fiberglass the helmet now that I know how.

Nice work! Looks like you got good sharp folds and no warping.

Thanks. My first fett bucket was my first crack at propbuilding so it was a bit inaccurate, but I was still proud of it :)! This one is going to be my master for all my future mando projects.

I just printed out the WOF files, gonna start initial construction tonight, and hopefully will be able to start putting on the outside resin coat and then fiberglass the inside starting tomorrow.

This will be the first time I've ever messed with the WOF files, got any tips or suggestions?

Also,I commented on your thread about this bucket over on TDH,my name over there is JacenFett.

Here are some new progress pics. I will need to highly sand the dome to cut down on the curve and slightly flatten the top. I might even switch it out for a batting helmet. I don't know!!

Hey man,

As far as the WOF templates go, they rule!! The hard parts are the cheeks and the dome. Since there are no tabs to glue to, the cheeks really suck to put together. I actually preferred the pep cheeks and dome. The WOF templates have a lot of pieces that are for proportions and getting everything to line up. If you have questions, ASK THEM! I didn't and messed up my first build. Oh well!! It is a learning experience. Have fun!

I love these things! Whatever happened to this? I am thinking about trying one - can someone point me in the direction of the templates???

as stated in the 1st post - templates are a sticky on the TDH ie The Dented Helmet.

lots of help over there on all things Fett!

Hey, any progress on this? I'm just about finished with my Fett pep, same file you're using, and I think it's looking great. I jumped the gun and cut out the visor right away, so now the helmet is probably gonna be wonkey, even after I taped it back in. Sigh...still, it's amazing that, after a few days of pretty simple work, I have what is obviously a Fett helmet, and it hasn't cost me a dime. Now to see if fiberglass resin and resin mat are more expensive than just buying a helmet off somebody...in my experience these DIY projects aren't always all that much cheaper!

I have the gaunt pep file and if this goes well I'm gonna give that a shot.
