Captin America SHEILD MADE OF 2X4'S.

Hi everyone! I have been working on this shield for about a month. Still some detail work to be done. It is made of 7 construction grade lumber. The last few details are the straps for the back and a high gloss lacker for the front. 20140920_162622-1.jpg

Would have enjoyed seeing the build process. I agree that the wood grain is pretty cool. Makes me want to build a Ranger Cap costume ... :)
 
help with captain america shield

| am making a captain America shield out of 2x4's. I have got a long way but looking for some advise on what to do for the straps on the back.

Wow,nice. I make medieval shield for reënactment but I think I have a new project now. You sir have inspired me.

I really do love the wood grain look to it!
Any luck with attaching straps to it?
 
The way it is made it wouldnt need glass. It has a finish on it that protects it from damage. Thank you for the idea.
