Re: Captain America: TFA Belt and Holster Rig - 99% Complete

How's your shield coming along? Or did I miss this build thread somewhere else?

Re: Captain America: TFA Belt and Holster Rig - 99% Complete

Still working on it when I get the free time. I'm going to post up my thread soon :)

I added the L hook to the back of the belt to accept the back harness, so this one is done! I'll be boxing this one up and sending it off to its new owner in the coming days. There was a lot of interest in if I would be selling this... I may, may consider doing a very small run of these in the future. Just takes a lot of time to complete, which I don't have a lot of these days. Thanks to all the great feedback and support I received during this project, and a special thanks to Sandman0077 for the initial leather and guidance! :thumbsup

Looks great! Would you ever consider offering up the patterns? I read through Sandman0077's thread and was unable to find them.

Churned these out today for another member...

Disclaimer: I just happened to have a little bit of free time to work on this... I'm not in a position time-wise to be able to do this regularly. As I mentioned before, I may entertain the idea of doing these on a commission basis in the future, just no time for it now (or any time soon really) :thumbsup

Seeing as how you used your own 1911 for fitment purposes, did you check the fit of 1911 magazines in the belt pouches? I ask because those pouches, although they look great, don't look correctly sized for ammo pouches.

roblenzz, thanks for that reference, But I was more looking for the holster and associated straps. It seems that Sandman0077's thread glossed over that detail (I believe he used a production holster and disassembled it). Also, great looking Kevin!

That would certainly explain the perceived size discrepancy. Thanks :)

Cap needs a lot of ammo! :)

Yeah, Sandman used a replica holster he disassembled for a pattern. Your best bet is to get a replica holster and strip and redye to color match, or you can purchase a pattern (though I haven't found one that quite matches). The straps are pretty easy to do using various reference photos (this thread included :))

Jealous of your leather-working skills! The output you've produced is top notch! Looks really spot on to me :)
