Captain America Shield- Made in Australia

Nice work man, i'm getting really jealous about the shield. I should really start my own project!

Could u tell me how much u spend on the blank?

I'm looking for a blank on my own in germany and i really have to say that it's kinda impossible to get one here.

Lookin great! Dyou mind showin us the templates you used for the brackets? And how did you cut them from the aluminum sheet?

No, I haven't given up on the task or anything like that....... It's been ages since my last post!
Work has been demanding and it's been my first day off...... I've been itching to get back into it!!!
I've completed the first bracket- it was a bit of a challenge- many thanks to Valor and his ideas!
Its all taped up and ready for the the blue centre to be painted!
I want to have that part done and dusted this week!! And of course the second part of the brackets- it's just a matter of snapping it all together!
Stay tuned!!!!!

For the brackets-I used the templates from Valor's post- I modified it a bit.
I just used a sheet of aluminium and scored it a few times with an exacto knife. Pretty easy- gives it a nice clean cut too.

On goes the blue duplicolor! Paper star taped on top so the star is metal to metal!
tomorrow, a few coats of clear and then prep for the red!!!

Had to strip the shield back- no probs! All a learning curve- I'm pretty confident now I've got the hang of it all!
Stay tuned!!!

Redone the blue today- waiting till it dries for 24 hours then I'll get on to the red.
Its been a challenge, I've learn a hell of a lot from it all- I'm pretty sure I got this!

I decided to do a battle damage one- it looks absolutely stunning in person- the pictures don't do its justice!
Once the black dried, I will attach the brackets and serial badge, then it's a wrap!
my next one will be a clean one, I just wanted to complete a battle damaged to see what it looks like. It truly brings the shield to life!
Stay tuned!,,,,

Today I've completed my first shield!
Very happy with how it's turned out and it's strong and sturdy to be held and used!
Ive seen the idea of displaying it on a guitar stand, picked up one for $10 on ebay!
