Captain America Shield Failure!

Ok, so last summer I decided to start on a Captain America shield for a friend. It started out pretty well until I left the shop for a minute, only to come back and find the form had collapsed! Anyway, I was looking through some action figures and I see the "finished" product behind some stuff. Why I kept it I have no idea, but this time the laughter is better than the pissed off feeling the first time!

In case anyone needed a laugh today!

As far as honing skills go, I learn more from my failures than I do from my successes.
But yep that pretty well sucks...sorry

put some bondo and adobe on that sucker - custom an action figure with a mustache and a green outfit and behold - CAPTAIN MEXICO!

Oh I've learned alright!:lol Thanks for the encouragement from everyone.

And I think I just might try the battle damaged thing, hadn't thought of that...soon as it warms up around here.

I made one out of foam for a friend last year. It's a bit lighter then the fiberglass ones, but it took 2 tries to get it right, so I feel for your pain my friend. Just move it to the recycle bin and keep going forward. (and try not to think about the materials costs):cry

That looks pretty good, wondersquid. How did you choose to attach the straps, may I ask?

The only failure is never trying.
(unless you are Yoda, then there is no try):lol

Thanks for sharing!...I like the sheild.

oujala - I had a piece of thin plywood in between the two layers of foam that I screwed to. (man I gotta check these threads more often...)
