As someone that knows theRocketeer, I'll throw in my 2 bits:
You say he "may or may not send you what he is selling" - did you get stiffed? This site has lots of sellers who've "gone rogue." theRocketeer is the opposite. Everyone gets their stuff. Careful when you suggest that people may not get their orders.
theRocketeer is 1 man, he takes on the work of 3. He doesn't have a lot of time to deal with indecisive people. I don't know you and don't know the dealings, but when you're running at 110% capacity, if the deal isn't going to be easy, why waste precious time?
As far as the gift payment, I know myself I prefer paypal as a gift. Not because of the fees, but because of the taxation benefits of a "gift". Look at people's feedback here, I feel you don't have anything to worry about disputing.
I have 8 of theRocketeer's helmets hanging on my walls, they're the coolest things I own from here. He's a talented artist who, in my opinion, makes the best helmets available. I'm guessing you caught him at a bad time, between the 10+ runs he's doing, he's also in the middle of a big move and I'm guessing you just pushed him over the edge that day.
That's it, and while it's unusual, sellers can decide not to sell their products if they don't want to. And I agree, I'm not trying to start drama.
