Captain America ebay stealth suit?

After thinking on it for a bit, as far as the boots, I think I'm going to go for the cheap version of the movie route. Ie., get some affordable black tactical boots/shoes and build some leather gaiters/boot covers to go over top. There was a thread around here somewhere that addressed what the actual screen boots were, but I believe they were quite pricey.

Agreed. I actually just use comfortable black shoes with the gaiters on top. It looks pretty spot on. BoogieBear, can't wait to see the pics of how the acetone dulled the shine on your costume. Did you just lightly go over it?

Shoot, I totally forgot to post those last night! Try to remember tonight...
Yeah, I just took a clean, white, cotton rag, poured some acetone on it and then rubbed an area til it looked wet. You'll see some blue making its way onto the rag. So just rotate to a clean spot and repeat.
The only negative is the material is much more prone to get dirty without the coating but it looks 100% better imo.

It was a custom size to my measurements. This is the second suit i have ordered from them. The first was the Avengers version of Caps suit which was perfect. this one the jackets a little short but nothing I cant live with.

Also, What boots are people are using for this outfit?

The boots are Magnum Men's Mach 1, since in both Cap 2 and in AoU he is wearing gaiters/spats, you can get the high or the low ones. I got these:

They were worth the cost to me. Even the cheapest ones at Walmart are $35-40 (I have those too). These are VERY comfortable and really high quality.

Tried to take pics under 2 different light sources so you'd getter a better feel for the contrast. I think the first one on the left shows the difference a little better.
Oh, and I forgot to mention before, in case it wasn't obvious, I only wiped down the shiny areas, not the darker "under panels" which weren't that pleather-like material.

Agreed. I'm havin kind of a hard time deciding between harrypotterfan's ebay suit or the cosplaysky one thanks to all these great photos. haha

Has anyone ever ordered the Winter Soldier Costumes from CosplaySky? We still need one of those and I don't know whether to make one or to buy it.

Alright, So after owning this costume for 24 hours, I have my review. So lets start off with what I got. You receive the coat, the pants, gloves, belt, shield harness thingy, and the "helmet". Right out of the box, the detail looked great. I already knew I would be replacing the star, but it actually doesn't look that awful. I'm replacing the star with Cosplay Sky's star they sell, http://cosplaysky.com/captain-america-the-winter-soldier-steve-rogers-metal-star-badge-insignia.html Anyways, this costume is HARD to put on alone. Mostly because the collar is detachable with these snaps on the front, so whenever you try to put the harness on, it knocks it off. I eventually learned to get it on my own. Once I put the costume on, I noticed that the coat was super, super short. I did custom measurements, so I didn't really know what was up. I'm starting to think its supposed to look that way so it looks like a one piece costume. The pants were great, had no problem with those. The Belt looks pretty good. The only problem with that is that there is no way to adjust it. It was a bit small so I pinned it to the right size. I'll sew it up later. The helmet...lets not talk about that... The metal pieces on the costume look really good. Thats about it :p But I did buy a photo-op with Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier) and Anthony Mackie (The Falcon) at Chicago Comic-Con, So that should be fun!

I received my cosplaysky costume in only five days from China, and I've been meaning to post my thoughts/review. As I was reading this posting I had several of the exact same thoughts and I'm looking for some advice on the bottom of the thread with some upgrades. I would have posted photos of it but mine are exactly like HPF.
--The suit looks great, and takes a helper to put on. My fiance had to zip up the back and help with the straps.
--The coat is a little short, but is designed to be that way. I ordered an XL, and while the pants are too big and need to be hemmed, the coat is a little small. I got the stock XL as I didn't want to delay shipping by a few weeks since I'd like to wear to a con.
--The harness and belt are NOT adjustable. They are loose on me, but that's better than too tight. Note: the numbers didn't line up for me, as the pants were 38-39", but my circumference is a 45". I wear 36" jeans a little loose on me. Anyway.
--The gloves, I have to say, aren't bad at all. I could replace them (see below).

1. I'm thinking of replacing the gloves with a leather pair I found on Amazon for $10, and getting boots with gaiters as others have suggested. Has anyone had any luck finding the latter?
2. I bought this and tried it with the whole getup, and it is H-O-T inside. I'm going with boxers and that's it folks, and it's stifling with this helmet. http://amzn.to/1AgPXIY Is there any other item that would work with the stealth suit, or am I destined to overheat in 15 minutes despite hydrating? I was thinking I could cut from the sides on the ears, but then the strap goes away.
3. I have this shield to go with it, and it's my pride and joy, but a little wonky to mount on my back. How could I mount this to this particular harness in the back?

Thanks for your advice guys.

Im attempting to use these really strong magnets to mount mine. I'll post the results tonight.

What colors did you use for your shield? It looks great and is pretty darn accurate!

Any pics of the CosplaySky costume? Probably going to order one from them in a few weeks.

Ordered from SkyCosplay and received within two weeks. Custom order due to my athletic build. This is my first costume order (been making my own costumes for 8 years). I'm impressed with the pattern design and quick turn around. This is a great base costume to modify to fit.

They nailed the chest, shoulders, and arms. The waist on the top and pants will have to be taken in. The belt and gloves will need modification also. Pants below the knee are baggy so I'll take those in as well.

Overall very impressed for the price. Be aware that you'll have to fit it even with custom ordering.

Attached are photos. I'm pulling the slack at the waist in the front photo. Belt is 4" oversized -which they might do intentionally as a trim-to-fit part.

Exactly the same as mine. All measurements were dead-on except the waist on the jacket and pants. After talking with them they gave me 2 options. 1)send the pants back on my dime and they would tailor them or 2)send $50 and they would make me a new pair. I chose to shell out the 50 beans figuring I'll at least have some extra perfect match fabric if I need it. We'll see how pair #2 turns out. They did indicate that they tailor the waist slightly larger to be safe, for anyone thinking of ordering this costume.

Hey guys, I am hoping you might be able to give me feedback. I've been reading through and most of you have gone the cosplaysky costume, correct? a fabulous captn. cosplayer I follow on instagram suggested I try an eBay version. however I have never bought a costume like this online before... and, well, I have a lot more curves than you gents. yup, I a lady. which make my sizing worries a little more. also I wanted to know what sort of time frame it took from order to in hand date? I'm hoping to have a capt stealth suit by mid October either way. (San Diego Comic Fest and Comickaze happen near the end of oct as does Disneylands halloween party, which I plan to be the captn for with a girl friend of mine who is planning winters soldier). any feedback is wonderful!

Got mine today and already seam ripping the lining out to replace the stars and stripes. Hopefully i can get this done before DragonCon.

Sorry guys, kinda fell off the planet, I as well got my suit, ordered a Large, and the jacket was incredibly short and the Large ended up being too small... big difference in china Large and American Large lol.

I will probably let it loose in the junkyard and try again with a bigger size...( they wouldnt refund me or simply make another size, my fault, but still. )

Hey everyone, I just received my suit from cosplaysky today. Overall not too bad but definitely needs work! Pants fit perfect but the jacket is where I had issues. I gave them lots of measurements but still off. The waist area is a little wide and makes the back end stick out a bit. It also came a bit short so that needs to be fixed. Arms and chest fit fine but when I raise my arms, being firm fitted the whole bottom end lifts up pretty high. Belt is a bit loose so that will need to be altered just slightly. The star looks great but is a little off center and because its so heavy and theres no padding, the chest area sinks in a bit. The stripes im not too fond of. They look cheap and shiny and are not sewn in even at all. Overall not a bad suit but I was really hoping to not have anything altered. Will post pics soon
