Can anyone I.D. this toy?

I got this in a lot from eBay and I'm hoping one of you might recognize it. If there are more like it or it belongs to some sort of set, I'd certainly like to get more.
It's a tiny space man, less than an inch tall. He's holding some sort of ray gun and his suit looks to be of 50's or 60's in design. There are "rings" around the knees and arm joints that remind me of sci-fi films from that era.

Any ideas?

I don't know, it could be a vending machine toy or game piece. I was hoping someone might recognize it from something more specific.

I had something similar as a kid. It was a set of spacemen in different colors and poses, like Army men. Can't remember what they were called though.

There are dozens of sets of multicolored spacemen, but I can say I've seen many in this size. I've tried many google searches including cracker jacks and cereal toys but I have come up with nothing.

When I was a kid, I had lots of different types of spaceman-like toys that resembled that a bit.

I remember specifically a space-looking toy car/airplane that came with figures that had ray guns but they were silver and had larger "surfboards".

It is a Marx spaceman from the 50s, and a re-pop judging by the color. The originals and Mexican re-pops are common on ebay.

I know MARX did spacemen and I know there are re-poops of their stuff...but this guy is only one inch tall. I don't recall MARX doing any spacemen in that size.

That is short for a MARX figure, they were usually about 2 to 3 inches tall, depending on which playset they are from. But the pose is defiantly copied from a MARX figure. With the soft features, and small size it probably isn't a MARX re-pop, but a bootleg copy.
