My sister and I are Fire Emblem fans. This is my first and probably last attempt with armor of this sort as I would have never picked this type of costume to make. That said it totally suits her and it was nice to try something very different. Half of this costume is glue and as a person used to needle and thread this was a logistics nightmare. Glue takes forever to dry and I'm not done after six months, but we're at 90%. Hopefully event is in September.
Materials to create so far
Glue
Faux leather - black, embossed black, and textured gold
Silk - organza, tbd cape 2.0 as none of us like this cape
Dark Souls and Bloodborne lore videos
More Glue
Office supply rivets
Silver pen to mark dark fabric because I've never worked with dark fabric
All new dark notions!
liquid leaf for all things shiny and gold
Hairdryer to mold the tiara
Bobby pins
Hot glue! No not to make things, to re-inforce the hip claws...oh yes and also to glue the pins to the tiara
Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy watched more than 20+ times
Scissors of various sizes and abilities to stab
Black leather paint
Gold leather paint
More glue
Premades - bra (though painted and appliqued), leggings, under corset for base, ombre purple wig from Wig is fashion, shoes, cheap black opera gloves because matching purples is hard and belt
Dangerous ladies Camilla pattern used and heavily, heavily modified
Dangerous ladies 3d printed kit since midproject my beloved techshop died
More glue
Entire Lord of the Rings extended edition
Velcro tape! I don't normally use this cause my sheer silks, but yeah. Velcro tape! Velcro it all!
Endless glue

Camilla from Fire Emblem and the stunning work of Christiane Tano.

Originally it was going to have that open goldwork background thing going like in Christine's work, but on my gorgeous model it looked... odd. So the background was replaced to be all black with the strong gold lines like in the original Camilla. You can't see all the work as well this way, but it looks better. There were a few initial attempts to make the leather look more embossed, but I settled on cutting the preembossed leather into the shape patterns I had drawn. Again while I started with the dangeous ladies pattern... it did not fit my sister at all so that had to be mocked up and recut many times until I got it right. The bra thing was a huge issues, especially between the cups. We also ended up settling with a premade bra since all the cups I made didn't have the support needed.

As you can see the center of the bra or the tackle was the most damn challenging thing ever. It looked great flat. Would fit the bra fine and then once it was on it would be in all kinds of strange positions. Finally I cut it and used a ton of velcro tape to get the decorative leather pieces to stick to both the bra and the under corset. The bra was originally purple and we knew it fit so it was painted with the black leather paint until it was sufficiently dark.
The rest of the armor was a waiting game combined with all the glue in the world. So much glue. Omg. After trying several glues I realized only this ultimate glue brand worked on my faux leather stuff and I got so many of them. Tacky glue and other kinds wouldn't hold.

Arm armor. Soo... I'll admit I didn't really look hard enough at this costume before agreeing because... holy cow. each arm is a bajillion pieces of armor on it. It's I think five super detailed pieces on each arm. The upper one with the claws is nearly dried finally. That said office supplies have never looked nicer imo.
part two in next post!
