Howdy Guys.

Currently I have been on a Forbidden Planet kick. Love every element of the film.

However Currently I am trying to gather as much info as possible on the Miniatures of the C-57-D. I am even toying with the idea of working on My Polar Lights Kit to bring more in line with the actual Miniatures.

I know Comet Miniatures had a Fiberglass casting some time ago to sell etc...

So basically anyone know where the C-57-D Miniatures are??Can the Bill Malone kit still be had? Any pics of the interior Light effect used in the lower engine dome??

Check out Fred Barton's website:

Offering a large scale replica C-57D per the news ticker.......

I have that fibreglass C-57D that Comet had in their catalog. I don't know if it just a casting of the Lunar kit?

The 22" model look here http://www.monsters411.com/wesshank.html

Also : http://www.monsters411.com/billmalone.html

The Bill Malone 16" vac form model was offered through Starlog magazine back in the early 80's. I have the back issues where it was advertised and I believe only few sold. Rarer than hen's teeth today.

The 7' version apparently survived filming and was on display at some car museum in Pennsylvania until the place closed. It's whereabouts after that are unknown.

Thanks for posting the interview links. It makes my head spin to read what these guys paid to acquire the original props and miniatures back in the day.

I've got a copy of the vac-form C-57-D replica Bill Malone peddled in the pages of Starlog in the early 70's.

I'd always wondered which version of the FX miniature the Malone saucer was modeled after, and after reading the posted interviews it's pretty clear it was modeled after the small (22") version.

My Malone replica is currently in the midst of being restored...

Here's a shot of the Lunar Models ship for comparison...

BTW, I noticed a number of FP items are coming up for auction at Profiles in History. The blaster in particular appears to be a really nice piece.

I thought I would pull this out of the archives, as the Captain said I am also on a C57D kick and only recently saw references to the Fred Barton prop.

So my question is (since I can't find references to this actually existing), was it produced? If so can I get one from somewhere, and does anybody have pictures of it.

I have tried ebay and google and come up with nothing.
