Hell he's not even pissed at the people that bought those copies he has no issue with GF,AP,TE2 his issue is with the person that sold those copies TE.

I tend to find myself disagreeing with Gino on more than a few things but on this i can't fault him, and i defy anyone here to say they would not be angry if they were in his shoes on this subject.

Ya know.. That is a good write up, and I too agree with it. The only shame here is that Gino goes a little to far from time to time, thinking all Stormtrooper parts are form this source. Many yes, not all.
 
This was a VERY informative read. Reminds me of some of the stuff that happened back in the mid-late 90's.
 
So let me get this straight: Someone left their armor molds in someone elses car trunk, and the car got stolen. Then someone sold the car to a third guy, but the molds were recast on the way by the second guy's third cousin's evil twin, before a fourth guy who had bought the molding rights to them. Then a fifth guy had the car recast.

I'm confused ... :wacko

And where in all of this does PirateTrooper fit in?
 
I don't pretend to be a Trooper guy but I have read enough on this whole matter to say, nothing Matt has said has convinced me on any forum regarding this past deal. This has gone round and round and it seems both parties and their fans on either side are having the same re-hash, it's like the one who mentions it the most is heard the most for it to intergrain in our minds.

I'm a neutral as far as I'm concerened and have refrained from posting on this matter before now. I have read enough rants from TE to know his version of events is flawed. Both Gino and Matt are not saints as the majority know so I'm not having any of that whiter then white BS, but I side with Gino on this one. Not because he comes across as more intelligent, not because he posts on this matter with more clarity maintaining more dignity but it is because of Matt's failure to convince IMO. I would guess 75% across the board would be in Gino's favour regarding this matter.

Sorry to quote myself but it still applies. I'm certainly not defending nor agreeing with TE's version of events -as you can see

What I am saying is Gino is wrong to suggest that he is the only "legitimate" maker of helmets and armour from the TE moulds - and that everyone else like AP TE2 etc. are effectly recasters

So this is not Gino's word against TE, but Gino's word against all the other "legitimate" makers like TE2 and AP. Ive never seen anything to suggest that Gino owns anything.

He openly admits to paying nothing, and cant produce any form of documented evidence to back up his "ownership". Thats why I don't believe it.

My issue all along has been Gino pointing the finger at other legitimate makers and trying to label them as recasters.

So people here are mad that someone recast Stormtrooper armor that was recast from the original ROTJ costume that Cameron O. had. So everyone here has basically recast legal rights to Lucas Films. Kettle Black.

Nobody on this forum (with a very few exceptions) has any legal rights to make any replica props, not sure if ya noticed that small detail in the 7 years you've been a member.
Legal rights aint the issue.
 
Some of the responces ( here and on other boards ) to PT recasting TE2 are a bit confusing..

..I used to be pissed at all the Vader secrets..seeing what a mess the trooperworld is makes me glad Vader is so secret..I guess it boils down to TE double dipping and muddying the waters so much it is such a mess to figure out it becomes a free for all...

Is an issue.
You get angry when someone recasts what you have recast.
So, you have no real right to be angry over stuff you recast yourself.
Legal or no legal right. Your still recasting.

If something is sculpted a creative peice of art and directly recast it to finacial gain from it its not good at all.

However if someone got a cast of an original prop then this peiece got recast... This is were the trouble comes. Who recast who..


Then.....
If someone restored and used allot of time and money to bring back an original peice to its original state then someone recast it i dont think its cool at all.


However when it comes to variouse vendors claiming their suit is direct cast of original but call it their own.. Then again thats were trouble comes claiming rights. If its direct of an original licenced peice then its the same for the person to recast the original licenced peice as it is of recasting the person who recast the original peice in the first place. It comes from the same licence holder.
