So, I started down this path a while ago.
I got images of the 1988 Durham Bulls minor league card set, (you can find em' on the web), & utilized these to make a rough, 'Crash Davis' card.
There was even a card they made for Kevin Costner, later in the year, as a supplement to the Durham Bulls minor league trading cards, (this is what I used as a template for the photo in the 'Crash Davis' card).
The problem I wound up having is that I'm not a huge baseball fan.
My life-long friend since early childhood IS that sort of fan, (he's a statistics guy, I just like to watch games now & then plus occasionally keep track of the standings in the paper), but sort of left me hangin' when it came time to whip up a bunch of stats for the BACK of the card I was making.
Why is that a problem? Well, I wanted to have representative stats on the back, (showing how he could achieve the all-time minor league home run record in 1988/1989 - which is referenced in the film).
SO, I'm throwing out the front, back, & numeric mish-mash image I made to see if anyone else wants to have a go at providing the finishing touches/statistics that I didn't wind up putting together.
If someone DOES finish em', I'd appreciate it if they'd send me their final images &/or point me somewhere to get a hold of em' so I can update the ones I made.
I printed mine out on a color laser printer, on heavy card stock & painstakingly glued them to chipboard, (cereal boxes). Other than the crappy stats...I think they turned out okay.
Anyway, here ya' go, if anyone is interested...
