A mate of mine wanted me to take some pics, so I thought that if I do that, I may as well post them up here too.
I finally put doors on my workshop, it was open ended as the structure was built to house the previous owners yacht. Being such an out of place building in it’s surrounding and now even more so with the addition of the doors, it made me think of who or what would build such a thing in a leafy, tranquil setting. I tossed up between The Dharma, Umbrella and Weyland Yutani Corp. Well being a rather large ALIENS fan, I went with WYC.
It's about a $5 prop, I had a cut off of MDF, a can of yellow paint that I've had for around 5 years that I used on my Daughters Mando costume and some allen headed bolts left over from a project I did a few years ago and a spare Saturday afternoon...
Yes, that is a dog door... he's a big lad.
I tried to match the sign in ALIENS as best as I could, but my hand's not as steady as it used to be with a paint brush. The block lettering is some old vinyl sheet I cut out with a scalpel. Also the bolts had to be bought in from the edges a bit to fit on the raised bits on the door.
I know it's not as exciting as all the builds on here, but I hope you like the photo's anyway. It's not a perfect replica but it was a fun little project.
Cheers,
Kraig
