Very cool. To match with that screen used hoverboard only thing required is the pink velcro at the top. Still looks great without it.

no our boards dont have the green velcro or holographic vinyl (we use a fully printed vinyl graphic), this is accurate as per the stunt boards used during filming as per the pic posted by PRCDMC. if you do want one with holographic vinyl and green velcro email me via the site and i can sort that out for you. we stopped using the holographic vinyl on our boards because it wasnt very accurate, but if you wanted one with it, its something that could be done for you.
it does have the pink velcro at the top
the lighting in the pic PRCDMC posted has just made it blend in (its not easy photographing neon colours and getting them to look right)

Not trying to be a dick but, as you said, since there are many variations of the hoverboard used in the movie, how can you say one is more or less accurate than another? Perhaps bttf123's version is based off one variation and razor's is based off of another. So, both could be very accurate or the opposite, depending on which variation each was modeled after and which variation you are using for reference.
One of the biggest differences I see between the two boards (besides the lenticular/holo pattern) is the green velcro stripes on the top. Bttf123's seem to be more of a light green that is similar to the front and back yellow triangle tips/wedges and razor's are much, much darker (like the green stripes on the bottom of the board). In looking at the photo from Propstore earlier in this thread, bttf123's are much closer in shade than razor's. Actually, it's a pretty significant hue difference between the two makers. Which is more accurate? See first paragraph above.

ours are based on the boards that had fully printed graphics on top and bottom (like the pic posted by PRCDMC above), these boards didnt have the green velcro (they were printed), which is why (as you said) our green stripes are like the ones on the bottom of the board Propstore had (because those ones are printed - just like ours)

Hi all,
I am completely new to this forum and prop making in general. Im actually going to be taking a modeling class this spring at the local community college to get educated. With forums like this, other online guides and taking classes, I should be making hoverboards in no time. (I'm actually going to try and make one that hovers, thats my holy grail).
My question is, with props like this, and essentially mass producing them for sale to consumers, do you need to by a license to do so? Like lightsabers....I mean, do you need to call up Mr.Lucas and negotiate a deal to be able to sell something you make? I get that having like 1 or 2 and pawning them off on eBay probably wouldnt cause many waves but where is the line drawn?

I ordered my Hoverboard from hoverboard.org.uk a couple days ago. I'm really excited to get my hands on it. Except, the snowstorm in the UK is slowing down my order! Blasted winter weather! I really like the idea that it is made of solid plastic. I hope I get it by Christmas.
I went to Hoverboarding 101 day during the week-long We're Going Back (weregoingback.com) 25th Anniversary celebration and got to mess with a bunch of BTTF123's hoverboards. There were replicas of each of the five from the film. There were wood ones and foam ones. I initially wanted to order one from BTTF123 but didn't want a foam one and didn't like the idea of wood except that is what they used in the filming. The hoverboard day included a few of the stunt crew from the film and they confirmed that most were made of wood. One thing I didn't like about BTTF123's foam boards is that the decals were peeling off the board. I would think that if a Hoverboard really did exist, that it would be made from solid hard plastic!? That's why I made the decision to go with hoverboard.org.uk's board.

Howdy all,
Thanks to this board, and this topic in general, I think I did pretty good for my first prop build.
I had to take some liberties because I based it off of an actual skateboard, which was of a different size and overall form.
I used to be not too happy with it, but now, seeing them side by side, I think it's a darn good first prop (especially considering I only had part of a month from concept to completion.)
(Had to get it ready by last Halloween)
